One of my clients, Lynsey, recently opened a trendy clothing boutique called Chandeliers. She decided to combine her grand opening with a Christmas open house. She wanted the theme to be Christmasy but BRIGHT to match her funky store. I stuck to hot pink, lime green, aqua, and purple.
Since we didn't want to take up too much space or interfere with customers shopping, I styled a small, easy to eat and mingle dessert table on a vintage dresser that I painted turquoise and placed at the entrance to the store. To spice up the standard candy menu, I embellished jars with glittery snowflake ornaments and bright ribbons. The focal point of the table was a glittery deer bust strung with crystals that I placed on a wooden riser covered in lime green chevron wrapping paper. This really tied in the deer shown on the store's invitation to the open house.
In the back room, I made a ruffled tablecloth (in funky pink, aqua, lime, and purple patterns like zebra print) gathered up in the center with a glittery silver bow to dress up the caterer's table of appetizers and drinks. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to snap a picture of it and it was probably my favorite element of the entire party! As you can see from the fuzzy iPhone pics, I was pressed for time! I also made a wreath of neon colored ornaments using a rounded clothes hanger to hang above the table.
