Carrie and Jon had a Christmas engagement and planned on a Fall wedding. But when Jon got transferred out of the country for his job, they moved their wedding up to April, leaving Carrie and I about 12 weeks to plan everything. The Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park was a given - Carrie and Jon had enjoyed many evenings there swing dancing; and it fit the whimsical and vintage feel Carrie wanted.
True to their Southern roots, they planned a BBQ lunch for their wedding guests. Buckets of colorful Jones sodas doubles as the table centerpieces. Vintage candy doubled as snacks and cocktail hour decor. Carrie's uber-talented Matron of Honor Rebecca designed all of the paper products, including the stunning paper flower bouquets she and Carrie carried.
Carrie wanted to offer her guests unique entertainment during the wedding. So we brought in 3 carnival games, and the swing band offered lessons during the buffet lunch. To say "a good time was had by all" would be a huge understatement.
