Hostess With The Mostess

A client was having a group of ladies over for a small holiday party and asked if I would provide a cute spread of appetizers, desserts, and a signature cocktail.  Even with only 5 days until the party, I was up for the challenge!  After reviewing the client's current Christmas decorations, which are very elegant and traditional with a modern natural twist, I chose to continue this theme on her kitchen island where the food would be displayed. 

Since there wasn't much room for decor, I knew the centerpiece needed to be a showstopper and the food needed to be attractive.  Amenities created my vision of a 6' tall Christmas topiary blooming with red roses and green hydrangea.  It was the perfect focal point for the buffet!

I used the free holiday printables provided by Hostess with the Mostess (thank you!) to jump start my theme and create food labels.  So here's the menu I came up with:

Spicy Cranberry Punch (recipe courtesty of HWTM!) served in a decanter adorned with a printable banner and snowflake

Hot Chocolate Peppermint Martini served in red martini glasses rimmed in crushed peppermint and adorned with a mini candy cane

Mini bread bowls filled with spinach dip and veggies displayed in a sleigh

Meatballs served with metallic pom pom toothpicks

Sirloin Artichoke Bundles Wrapped in Bacon displayed on white platters lined with patterned paper

Eggnog Pudding garnished with a mini Gingerbread Man displayed in parfait glasses atop a wooden riser that I covered with metallic patterned wrapping paper and a printable banner

Chocolate Hazlenut Mousse made with Nutella, served in a shot glass and adorned with a Ferrero Rocher chocolate
