Hostess With The Mostess

The Kate Spade party was held in honor of Amy. She wanted to have a big 31st birthday party. See, she was pretty darn pregnant when she turned 30 last year and she missed out on really celebrating. So she had a do-over. She told me she wanted pink and gold and girly. I told her "um, yes!" and "How about we we plan the whole thing around this gold polka dot Kate Spade iphone cover?" She said "um, yes!" So I planned and planned. Gold dots were plastered on everything that stood still!

We focused on a cutesy cupcake stand with DIY pink painted cake stands and homemade strawberry cupcakes in gold cupcake cups. I anchored the big round balloons with some DIY tissue paper fringe and tied them down for dear life! The wind was a whippin that day and almost took all the sweets away with it!

We also spend some time making the food and drink stations a bit more stylish. I made sandwich picks from gold glitter paper and polka dot signs by using a pencil eraser for a stamp. The drink station featured Amy's signature Sparkling Sangria with pink stripey straws plus some pink lemonade for the kids in hand stamped glass bottles.

I printed Kate Spade quotes out, framed them and placed them all around the house. Pink salt water taffy from Trader Joes was a perfect match for favors, nestled in vellum bags stamped with gold dots. And finally, the DIY Photo Booth made from curtains and gold paper dots was a hit with the kiddies!
