Hostess With The Mostess

I hosted an Easter egg hunt for my nieces and nephews who were all under the age of 8.  Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the weather.  Sleet and rain in the area caused activies to be moved in doors.  

I created a treat table with angry chick cake pops, butterfly shaped sugar cookies, bunny cupcakes, chick cupakes, candy melt covered spring Oreos in the shapes of lions, bears, monkeys and elephants.  Easter wouldn't be complete with Peeps so I presented purple Peeps chicks resting on a nest of Whopper robin eggs and Peeps bunnies on skewers with a pail full of gummy carrots.  I aslo made cotton candy ice cream cones.  The candies were blow pops, ring pops, sweet and sour bunnies and more Whopper robin eggs.   I used spring colors of blue, lavendar, green and pink as the over all theme with bunnies, flowers and egg labels from a template courtesy of Magnolia Easter Collection.

There were some left over gum drops, jelly beans and non pareils from a previous party that I made into candy trees as part of the table decor.  

The children went home with treats, custom Easter baskets and visions of spring to come.
