1st Birthday Carnival (38 photos)
Even though Carnival theme is pretty common for kids birthdays, we wanted to bring in fresh ideas with a little bit of girly touch.
It was DIY-everything for this party! From food/drink labels, bottled water laber, goodie bag tags, popcorn cones and their labels, dessert picks, programs, straw flags to mason jar centerpieces.
Guest tables were dressed in red table cloth and were adorned with mason jar centerpieces. The mason jars were filled with roasted peanuts and wrapped with burlap and lace. We added the left over invitation "lollipops" and number 1 sticks to the jars. Each place setting had a personalized placemat and a set of cutlery and napkin with a personalized napkin ring.
Guests helped themselves to a spread of pizza, pasta, and salad. In keeping with the carnival theme, cotton candy, churros, and pretzel carts were brought in to the party.
ACTIVITIES AND PARTY FAVOR:
What's a carnival with a magician, balloon twisting, and face painting? The entertainment (and the sweets!) were the kids' favorite part of the party. Guests also had a blast at the photobooth.
The vibrant Carnival dessert table was definitely a hit at the party! Not only did it feature an amazing spread of classic Carnival sweets such as (mini) donuts, giant lollipops, pies, and cupcakes; but also some classy sweets such as strawberry mousse and macarons. The birthday cake was a tower or 3-layer tent-shaped cake. To make this vibrant dessert table look even more extravagant, we created a DIY backdrop. It consisted of a painted laser-cut frame with the birthday girl's initial in it and assorted pinwheels in various sizes. The frame and the pinwheels were attached to red and white polkadot foam boards, decorated with white and blue striped awnings.
