Lundyn turned three and to celebrate we had a little ballet themed party! She had just started dance, and was 'all about ballet', so we turned our house into Lundyn's Dance Studio for an i Dance Party…the open space, hard wood floors, and natural light made the perfect space for dancing!
I attached the silhouette welcome sign on the front door to a decorated wreath, where I took a pink feather boa and wrapped it around a Styrofoam wreath, and then wrapped a yellow ribbon around that for some added color.
Lundyn's Dance Studio:
I knew I wanted the feel of a real dance studio, so as you walk into our house you are greeted with a large mirror that was hung on our entry wall and affixed to that was the most perfect ballet bar that my husband sanded and smoothed out for all the tiny little dancer's hands. Above that I hung some large pink and yellow paper fans for some extra color. I made every tiny guest a pink tutu by gathering yards of pink tulle and attaching it to pink ribbon, and then I added large pink flowers to the centers of all. I hung the individual tutus on the ballet bar, each with personalized name tags. To make her party extra sweet, we had a ballet instructor give the girls a little ballet lesson. Miss Sharon was amazing with the girls, she captivated them for a good 20 minutes with a mini-dance lesson. She truly has a gift for dance and teaching-the girls loved her!
Beach Baby Designs did it again and created a beautiful three-tiered white ruffled satin tablecloth, simply stunning! Behind the table was a white backdrop where I hung a custom banner at the top that read "Lundyn Turns 3!" and below that was a gray ballerina silhouette which was cut out of vinyl, affixed to thin wood, and then hand cut for hanging! The cupcakes were wrapped with matching party printables that included pink and white striped wrappers, 3-D cupcake party circles, and fondant 3-D ballerina slipper toppers. I had custom Oreo pops made that contained a glittery pink 3 and yellow flower on them, and I placed those in a jar of lemon drops. Firefly Confections made some beautiful ballerina slipper cookies that were the perfect eye candy, and we had glass jars filled with pink lemonade and gray striped straws, as well as yummy pink macaroons for all the party guests to enjoy!
I knew I wanted a pink Barbie cake with ruffles and jewels, but it couldn't be just any Barbie, she had to be glamorous and be wearing jewelry, so Lundyn and I picked out the perfect doll for her cake and Helen Bernhard made my vision become a reality with the most beautiful Barbie cake!
Every table was "dressed up" for the occasion, and the Favor Table was no exception! Beach Baby Designs created another tablecloth by gathering several yards of pink tulle and sewing it to a printed fabric that had ballet slippers on it, making it look just like a tutu! I wanted to add some height difference to my table, so I asked my talented brother to create for me two white round pillars, and he did just that, simply fabulous! I made the favor gifts from little yellow boxes that I bought from the dollar bins at Target, and decorated them with personalized silhouette favor tags that read "thank you for coming to my party, love Lundyn" and then filled them with sweet little confections! I took a dress form and decorated it with a chic tutu made from elegant lace and satin fabric, and then gave it a little sparkle by adding a long gorgeous pearl and shimmery necklace, designed by Chic to the Nines, and then finished it off with some soft pink ballet slippers! I also made candy kabobs from white and pink gummy candies and displayed them in jars of white jelly beans!
All of the party printables were created by me, LundynBridge Events. Simply Silhouettes took a picture of my tiny little dancer and turned it into a lovable silhouette which I used for her birthday party invitations, as well as party circles, ballerina wands, and favor tags. Everything was personalized!
Little Guest Tables:
Each mini table had a tablecloth on it made from ballerina fabric. I wanted to incorporate something fun for the tiny dancers, so I created ballerina ribbon wands for each guest to enjoy during their lesson and put them in little white vases on every table with signs that read i Dance.
Lundyn's Party Attire:
What little girl doesn't love to dress up and wear jewelry, right!? Lundyn wore a fun party dress, which she LOVED twirling in the entire time! Of course she needed some accessories to go along with it, so LiviLu Baby created a stunning soft pink and Swarovski crystal necklace that also included a precious little ballet slipper hanging from the center of it, she even had a matching bracelet! To top off her ballerina look, she wore two light pink rose flower hair clips!
After dancing, they moved on to lunch, cupcakes and cake, and then followed by presents and a bit more playing. Celebrating with our dear friends and family was the perfect way to spend the day…we love this tiny dancer to the moon and back!
