1½ cups cracked ice or 6 ice cubes
1½ ounces well-chilled vodka
1 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
1½ ounces Sweet and sour
¼ ounce blue curacao
Garnish: 1 lemon
Chill a 6-ounce martini glass.
To prepare the garnish, carefully peel the lemon, keeping large sections of the peel intact. Flatten the peel on a cutting board. With a paring knife, cut the peel into the shape of a surfboard, about ½ inch wide and 2 ½ inches long. When finished, it should be bowed out in the middle with a rounded point at each end. One lemon yields about 8 “boards” or garnishes.
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice and add the vodka, Midori, sweet and sour, and blue curacao. Shake vigorously to blend and chill. Strain the mixture into the chilled glass. Pop a “board” into the drink to garnish.
