Start with a cream-colored linen (you can use white if necessary) – and a brown table runner. We created this "table runner" from a brown tablecloth folded down to approximately 18". Both tablecloths pictured here are from the Target Casual Home collection.
Create “placemats” from 12x12 scrapbook paper with contemporary patterns, such as the mod circles prints used here, which are from American Crafts™ (see sidebar for purchasing info). Embellish cocoa-brown napkins with patterned ribbon that coordinates with your placemates and a diecut, Christmas-themed icon. (Ribbon and chipboard icons also from American Crafts™.)
Create a unique centerpiece from white mini-vases such as the American Bungalow set from Rosanna, Inc (pictured above) - and red and green decorative balls, such as the shiny capiz spheres we used, which were purchased at Target for $5 each. Embellish the vases with more of the patterned ribbon and top with the decorative balls.
Next, create tiny “vases” from votive holders embellished with the same scrapbook paper used for your placemates. Fill the vases with cinnamon sticks. If you have time, you can also dip the tips of the cinnamon in chocolate first – just be sure to let the chocolate cool & dry thoroughly before adding them to the table!
For the finishing touch, punch red and green circles from scrapbook paper using a larger circular craft punch (you can also use varied sizes, if desired), and sprinkle the paper confetti down the length of the runner.
