PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jessica

All three of my boys have always loved fire trucks. I’ve been dying to design a new fire truck collection and finally had the chance. I wanted this collection to have a classic, but slightly vintage feel. I’m still obsessed with the “chalk” look and also incorporated that into many of the design elements.

We started the party off by taking a trip to the fire station. My sister lives in the apartments adjacent to the fire station. The kids had a blast looking at all the fire engines and touring the fire station. Then we headed back from the real fun.

As usual, my dessert table consisted of sugar, sugar, and more sugar. I included everything from chocolate cupcakes and several different types of cookies to cotton candy and containers full of other assorted candy. No one ever leaves hungry, but they just might get a tummy ache if they’re not careful.

I’ve been loving the trend of mini jars filled with treats/candy and topped mine with miniature dalmatian dogs. Every fire themed party needs a dalmatian or two, right? The jars were purchased from Specialty Bottles. I (meaning my hubby, remember I am a disaster) simply spray painted the lids and glued on the miniature dalmatian dogs. I also decided to fill them with an assortment of different colored candies. These ended up being one of my favorite party details.

Some of my other favorite details include the vellum cookie wraps. I just took the store bought white fudge oreos (only available around the holidays, I think) and wrapped them in a little printed strip of vellum. Super easy and super cute. I am also loving the mini “faux” matchbooks. We took pretzels and dipped them in red and white chocolate and placed them in the matchbooks and secured them with a clear elastic.

This classic fire truck collection will be so much fun for any little one. Boys and girls alike had a blast. If you’d like more information about this party, please check out my blog.
