PARTY DETAILS, as told by Juli

Come One, Come All to our fun backyard big top circus! We styled this colorful first birthday party for our son around a “big top” theme. We combined the vintage look of Dimple Prints’ circus tent printables with a modern color scheme of bright white, red and blue. The dessert table, prize table and food and drink stations were all designed with matching blue backdrops adorned with bright red drapes to mimic a circus tent. Carli’s beautiful print work designs were highlighted with white whimsical frames that allowed the prints to pop off the backdrop. The dessert table was stocked with everyone’s favorite carnival food including popcorn (cupcakes), hamburgers (cupcakes), sno cones (cake pops), pretzels (chocolate covered pretzels), and donuts. The centerpiece was a beautiful big top smash cake by Annie’s Creations set atop a glass cake stand and surrounded by peanuts.

While I love desserts my favorite element to this party was the prize table. Every carnival has to have prizes! Each kid received their own personalized bucket to collect their goodies and bring them home. Water guns, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, playing cards, coloring books, animal beach balls and treats such as circus peanuts, cotton candy and animal crackers seemed like the perfect way to cap off a fun filled backyard bash. The adults weren’t left out of the goodie giving… a small side table of treats was on hand for everyone to grab popcorn, cracker jacks, soft pretzels and of course cotton candy. We packed these little treats up in sweet big top favor boxes for the adults to take home. The favor table was decorated with gum ball filled vases and festive paper pinwheels by Jaclyn at Peckled.

The day was filled with a lot of fun and laughter and we were so thrilled that every sugar coated smile was captured by the talented and lovely Dana of Dana Benz Photography.
