Gnome Theme Birthday Party

When picking a theme for her son’s birthday, Nikki Hernan realized that a Garden Gnome Birthday couldn’t be more perfect… and I think it’s pretty much the cutest idea she could’ve decided on! With the help of a few little friendly gnomes, she transformed the yard into a Woodland Wonderland studded with toadstools and bright polka dot decorations {and I just LOVE the oversized ric-rac bunting}.

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Garden Gnome Pillow Party Favors + Fairy Floss “Gnome Beards”
  • Adorable Toadstool and Illustrated Gnome Cookies
  • Cute Toadstool Birthday Shirt and Hand Sewn Felt Mushrooms

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Nikki

For my sons first birthday I wanted a party theme that encompassed my little man’s personality and Gnomes suited him to a tee!

Firstly, I visited a hardware store to pick the cutest Gnome I could find then the invitations were illustrated to match them.

Vinyl table cloth was cut into bunting and spotted paper lanterns were hung at varied heights from the trees. Artificial Turf and an old log bring the garden to table top with honey crackles, fairy floss and lollies always a favourite for all.

Adorable Gnome and mushroom cookies where made by Sugar Pearl Cookies and the most adorable addition to any child’s room are the hand sewn toadstools from Snuggles & Smiles featured on either side of the table.

Because the image of the Gnome had played such a feature in the event  I took delight in creating gnome cushions for the children to take home. Using iron-on sheets to transfer the picture to calico they were sewn and stuffed and all displayed in a big wheel burrow to add to the fun!
