Tanya Mirco of Empire Lights Event Styling has always loved Chevron stripes and couldn’t resist including them in her son’s Christening, so she created this Chevron Striped Christening Celebration! She designed all of the paperie herself and based the rest of the party’s look around that — pretty clever if you ask me! From the tablescape and menus to the sweet treats and cake, everything coordinates beautifully. Good job Mom!

PARTY DETAILS as told by Tanya…
Planning my sons Christening celebration was an absolute pleasure — from designing the stationary, to seeing everything come together on the day.
I have been in love with all things chevron since before my son was born so there was no question of using the design for his christening celebration. Drawing inspiration from fabric I have used in his nursery, I used a soft colour palette of mint, grey, white and teal, which were well suited to the breathtaking coastal venue of Coogee Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.
The chosen colour palette & chevron pattern as well as the “R” monogram was carried throughout all elements of the event including the bespoke balloonery, bonbonnieres, table menus & stationary, table linen and floral design. To add an element of sparkle to the event, silver shimmer was also used as an accent on the “R” monograms and cake topper.
The dessert buffet and cake were based on the invitation I designed. The flawless & delicious white chocolate and raspberry cake was made by Charming Treats and the dessert table featured other sweet treats such as cupcakes, chocolate brownies, panna cotta & cheesecake jars and macarons by Maison St Honore. Themed takeaway boxes were also provided for the children to fill from the jars of sixlets and assortment of desserts.
The mint, grey and white colour scheme was carried through the floral design using dusty miller, beautiful white ranunculus and handmade chevron patterned floral boxes on the main table.
Being a large venue, bespoke tulle covered giant balloons were chosen to provide an eye-catching element for the table centerpieces without distracting from the beauty of the natural surrounds.
Finishing touches included handmade tassels and shimmer monogram “R”’s to the tulle covered balloon centerpieces, chevron patterned table runners, personalized name tags on the table napkins, sixlet filled bonbonniere jars and Seating Arrangement signage to direct guests to their tables upon arrival.
The enjoyment of the day and details of the event were skillfully captured by Simone Addison Photography.
