Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! Paula Casas of Mulberry Paperie planned this Modern Grand Prix Race Car Birthday Party for her son, who loves watching Formula One races with his Dad.

I’m loving the clean, sleek look & color palette combined with the shabby-chic vintage details. Plus, how cute are those personalized drivers’ licenses for each little race car driver?! Careful folks, there are going to be some pretty adorable little speed demons out on the raceway! ;)

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Black & white checkered printables + ‘fuel up’ party flags at the Fuel & Oil drinks station
  • Race car themed chocolate covered Oreos + vintage race car driver’s helmet cake pops
  • Tire tread stamped wooden utensils +  black tire macarons at the Pit Stop dessert table
  • Beautifully detailed race car cookies & an orange car cake topper + wooden car party favors

PARTY DETAILS as told by Paula

My son Mathias is obsessed with cars and loves watching Formula One with his Dad so I thought what would be better than to have a Grand Prix birthday party for him.

I knew I wanted something vintage with modern touches, so I started with the color palette, I initially design two boards, one with red, yellow and black and another with orange, teal and black. I showed it to the birthday boy and without hesitation he chose the orange palette. I was hopping for that choice, it was also my favorite!

After some of the graphics were done, I contacted an amazing group of vendors to use my designs as an inspiration to create the most fun, cool and delicious sweets for the “Pit Stop” table, we had tire macarons, vintage racing helmet cake pops, chocolate covered Oreos with Grand Prix fondant symbols, custom sugar cookies, checkered cupcakes, a red velvet speedway cake and a fuel up station for the thirsty little racers.

We had a driver’s license and registration station where each little driver received a gable box with chocolate, a wooden car and a personalized driver license. They were very excited to decorate their own car using stickers and paint to get them ready for the speedway!
