Coke Soaked Bacon

When it comes to celebrating THE BIG GAME, the first thing most people think of is football, of course, but a very close second is… THE FOOD! And I’m guessing that order may even be in reverse for a few hungry souls. 😉😋

Bring on the BACON 🥓

Bacon is always a crowd-pleaser, and we’ve used it in various ways for different party dishes, including marinating it in Coca-Cola! This gives it a super tasty & slightly-caramelized twist.

We thought it would be fun to incorporate this Coke-Soaked Bacon into a couple of our favorite bacon-y appetizers for game day this year. It added the perfect, subtle kick of sweetness to a Bacon Ranch Cheddar Football Cheese Ball and to Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Tenders.

The results were super delicious! Both my parents and my little ones gobbled both of these dishes up, and when loved ones of all ages like the same thing, you know what that means… SCORE! 😜

How to make Coke-Soaked Bacon:

  1. Place individual bacon strips in a baking dish.
  2. Pour Coca-Cola over the bacon, cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours. (You’ll need around 24 oz of Coca-Cola per pound or so of bacon.)
  3. Preheat oven to 400º.
  4. Drain liquid and place the bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and slightly caramelized.

Now… onto the crowd-pleaser recipes! I originally had them both in this post, but recently separated them out to make things easier:
