I paired up with my friend Jessica to create a rustic autumn themed dinner party. We wanted all of our friends to feel warm and welcome to visit, mingle and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. I designed and printed the invitations myself at home, with custom paper envelope liners. I created little paper details to match throughout the entire party, including place cards, cake flags, straws, mason jar liners and more. We used my vintage steamer trunk as our drink station, where I wrapped mason jars with hemp twine and patterned paper liners that I designed and printed myself. I created little flags that say "Let's Give Thanks" and "Happy Thanksgiving" that I attached to paper straws. We bought and cut burlap to use as a table runner, which is easy and affordable. Then we filled the space with autumn colored pomegranates, crab apples, pears and persimmons that we picked up from the local produce market. Jessica put together some simple and inexpensive flower arrangements which sat in mercury glass vases with candles spaced between to accent the colorful fruits. For each place setting I created mini chalkboards with each guests name written on them. I cut small pieces of wood into squares and painted them with chalkboard paint. These are such a cute DIY takeaway for your guests, and super easy and cheap to make! You can give each guest a piece of chalk and have them write down one thing they're thankful for.
