Yellow Bridal Shower (13 photos)
Julie is a modern bride with simplicity and style at the forefront of her wedding planning. It's going to be a gorgeous day so I wanted to make sure the shower matched the sophistication of her wedding. Her wedding colors are blue and yellow, but I didn't want it to be matchy matchy, so we chose to do yellow and gray. We decided on a cocktail hour shower and had fantastic drinks that stuck with our yellow theme, limoncello, lemon drop martinis, melon sangria, fresh squeezed lemonade, lime margaritas and the brides favorite an imported tea from Sweden. For the food we stuck with appetizers and our menu included tomato pies, quiches, bruschetta, corn avocado dip, spicy hot crab dip, garlic-parmesan butter, spinach and artichoke dip, maple bacon wrapped shrimp, caprese salad, and for desert carrot and lemon cupcakes, and lemon cream martinies with raspberries. It was divine.
As far as decor goes, everything was simple, cute yellow table cloths that we found at Target, styrofoam balls covered in yellow flowers, and lemons. The food was the star of this party. Julie is a gardener, and really into organic fresh food so for the favors we gave each person the start of what would be their own herb garden a basil plant already planted in a jar, with an envelope of rosemary, thyme, chives, and oregano.
Everything but the cupcakes were made by myself and another friend of the bride, including invitations, recipe box and cards for the bride, decor, food, and drinks. All in all the bride was ecstatic at the outcome and I was sooo happy to host it!
