Here’s the skinny on the latest and greatest: The Casey Cares Foundation proudly celebrated thirteen years of smiles for critically ill children and their families at their “Mad About Casey Cares” Gala. Raising close to $150,000, hundreds of deserving children will be treated to fantastic opportunities over the next year. Over 300 guests attended this Mad Men themed gala presented by Hendersen-Webb, Inc. which featured late 50s and early 60s décor, seated dinner, live music from Lovecraft and Small Miracle, Pixilated Photo Booth, and a Radcliffe diamond raffle along with fantastic silent and live auction items. ABC2 meteorologist Lynette Charles and co-host of the MIX 106.5 radio show, Reagan Warfield delighted the audience once again as co- emcees.
“We are very excited to be having our gala at the B & O Railroad Museum for the third year in a row,” said Casey Baynes, charity Founder and Executive Director, “This event is not only fun, but helps families who not only are suffering in this economy, but also have to deal with insurmountable health issues as well.”
Recognizing donors who have been instrumental in exceptionally supporting programs of the Casey Cares Foundation in the past year were the Crivella family and Kevin Anderson, Athletic Director of the University of Maryland.
Proceeds from the event benefit programs for children suffering from leukemia, brain tumors, cystic fibrosis, blood disorders (such as sickle cell, TTP, aplastic anemia, etc.), lymphoma (Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin), sarcoma and other childhood cancers.
