This was the 30th birthday party i organized for my friend. Party props and decorations are almost impossible to find at the party stores, that is how I decided to do everything myself. I sew red and black table skirt and damask and red curtains for the candy buffet. Then I found a 3D windmill puzzle and painted it red. That was my main centerpiece and only cost me about $7 for the puzzle. then I bought some round boxes at the craft store and painted them black, white and gold.I made some dark chocolate eiffel towers and milk chocolate fleur-de lis. We also had some delicious lavander creme brulee, mousse au chocolat, mousse au framboise and cake pops for desserts. My friend Anne made some beautiful cupcakes with can-can dencer's leg toppers. To achieve desirable cabaret look I used some red table skirts and bought some little mannequins for the centerpieces. I dressed them in red tutus and pearls. The napkin rings were decorated with gorgeous crystal brooches. At the entrance I set up the dress up station. Ladies had to wear feather boas and mini hats, and gentlemen dressed up with moustaches and top hats. Delicious Beef burgundy, pate and fromages were served and guests drank champagne and wine. the cake was made by my friend with my help. it was our first attempt to use fondant and it came out great. The birthday girl was thrilled and loved the whole Moulin Rouge decor!
