I know it’s a little early for Christmas… but this adorable Nutcracker Themed Party was actually a SUMMER birthday celebration! And if you do happen to be on the lookout for a cool winter party theme already, then this is one fabulous act to follow! Styled by Courtney for her daughter’s birthday, every detail was designed to make the little ballerina guests jete with joy… from the sky-high Christmas tree cupcakes and fabric wrapped centerpieces to the creative Nutcracker inspired activities.

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for…

  • Mouse King party piñata (that doubled as great party decor!)
  • Colorful wrapped “presents” used as risers on the dessert table
  • Felt nutcracker character masks + matching tutus
  • Adorable Nutcracker inspired cookies and fondant cake toppers

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Courtney…

Every summer temperatures soar near 100 degrees around my daughter’s birthday so this year we cooled things down by having a Nutcracker themed party complete with snowflakes sprinkled throughout the décor.

I used snowflake themed household items such as placemats for the backdrop of the dessert table, napkin holders to display the cake pops and votive candleholders for the cupcakes. Doilies accented in fabric replicating falling snow hung next to small doll versions of Clara and several ballerinas.

Each little girl received a Nutcracker themed mask, coordinating tutu and a Nutcracker ornament displaying her name – which also doubled as a place card holder at the table.

Fun activities for the girls at the party included stringing ballet beaded necklaces, having their hair swooped up into fancy ballerina buns, dancing to the Nutcracker music and whacking the mouse queen piñata.

Too cute…. My son is dancing in the Nutcracker again this year playing Fritz and thought this would be a great for a cast party. Thanks for some wonderful ideas.

This is precious and is EXACTLY what my daughter wants. Wondering where the nutcracker ornaments came from and also the tutus? Thanks
