A Whimsical, Snow White Inspired Birthday Party
(HWTM Guest Contributor, Maureen Anders of Anders Ruff here!)
Mirror Mirror on the wall, will our latest party impress you all? ;) Our Snow White Inspired Classic Fairy Tale birthday party incorporated a bit of vintage with a bit of royalty, while still remaining whimsical and kid friendly! Poisonous candy apples, fairy tale blue bird cookies, candy gem embellished cupcakes, printable elements and a pretty white ruffle cake are all elements that brought this storybook theme to life.
Our printable invitation was designed to resemble a page from a fairy tale book, with customizations about the birthday girl. Beginning with “Once upon a time”, and ending with “Will you live happily ever after?” (as the rsvp), the invitation sets the tone for this whimsical Snow White birthday party.
The new printable collection featured the classic palette of royal blue, red and yellow, but was modernized a bit with some pops of a lighter robins egg blue.
The guest of honor (Adria’s daughter) dressed the part as Snow White in a custom dress by Made by Morgan. We made headbands using coordinating ribbon and $1 store headbands for the girls to wear and princess slippers.
Grayce’s friends also dressed as classic fairy tale characters, Belle and Cinderella. (Made by Morgan custom dresses) What’s better than a fairy tale party with all of the favorite characters attending?!
The dessert table was adorned with classic fairy tale blue birds on the corners holding up a royal pennant “happy birthday” banner with red rope cording.
Ruffles made of coordinating silk ribbon and layers of doilies were matted behind the printable party logo that decorated the poisonous candy apple (Pretzels Pleaze)
I made french macarons in shades of yellow and blue to coordinate and they were topped with a printable flag.
Poisonous Apple cupcakes: (Cuprazed Cakery) were topped with a pretzel stick and printable patterned red leaf. The cupcakes were wrapped with a printable cupcake wrapper from our new collection.
Raspberry mousse with lady fingers: were displayed with fresh berries, coordinating ribbon and a printable circle emblem with Grayce’s initial monogram.
The blue bird cookies (Cookie XChange): were placed in a silver tea pot and filled with fresh red holly berries from Adria’s yard. (Have you noticed that most fairy tale movies always have blue birds flocking around the main character?!)
Antique silver serving pieces: were filled with coordinating candies (from Oh Nuts). We sprayed $1 circle frames from Michaels with a vintage gold spray paint and used those as our place card holders.
The girls loved their fairy tale gems (aka Ring Pops)!
Royal gold bon bons were embellished with Grayce’s monogram logo printable.
A silhouette of a Snow White inspired character was printed and cut to put on the backdrop frame. (The silhouette is included in the printable collection!)
With the apple being a signature icon from Snow White, we chose to use apple slices on the side of the drink glassware. The stems were adorned with a party flag with a signature Snow White red ribbon.
Beautiful vintage gold crowns (Queen Bee Designs) were rested on the plates for the children.
Cookie Xchange also made cookies to look like gold mirror frames with the graphic initial, G (for Grayce) from our printables. Grayce felt mighty special at her party with the personalized touch!
Crystal glassware was filled with coordinating blue juice and were labeled with mirror frame labels from the printable collection. (Fairy tale potion! Perfectly fitting for a Snow White Birthday Party)
Place settings held sweet cupcakes in vintage silver cups that were stuffed with pale yellow tulle. We made candy gemstones to decorate the cupcakes. Cream puffs and macarons were also served on the royal pastries display.
The side table held favors and cosmetics for the girls to play with. Red lipstick that is usually a no-no for 7 year olds was allowed at this Snow White bash. (How could we have a snow white character without red lipstick!?) A custom printable wrap dressed up the lipsticks.
A vintage box was decorated with a printable sword/heart graphic to resemble the box the Queen used to hold Snow White’s heart. Instead of a heart, we filled the box with crystal jewels that the kids used to decorate their own handheld mirrors!
The girls got to decorate their own gold hand held mirrors with jewels.
A sweet little “thank you” apple tag was hanging from the mirror and the girls took this home as their favor from the party.
The girls also played with the precious crowns from Queen Bee Designs.
Was this party the fairest of them all?

This has to be the most amazing party I’ve ever seen!!! WOW!
What a beautiful party! My little princess would love it.
Grayce was so excited to do this and she did a fantastic job.
Good work Anders ruff and all who participated.
Where did you purchase the table runner? I love this party. It is precious.
Hi Mindi! We actually made the runner using the tapestry fabric that we used throughout the party. We found it at a locally owned fabric store called Mary Jos.
Hi, this party is AMAZING and im getting lots of inspiration for my daughters 5th Snow White Party! Can you tell me where you sourced the mirrors from?
THANKS :)
Grayce is absolutely beautiful as Snow White. (I would love to go to this party) Great job and wonderful imaginations.
Your party looks FABULOUS! I'm planning a snow white white themed party for my princess. I have been looking like crazy for the handheld mirrors and simply cannot find them anywhere. Where did you get them?
OmG that is sooo cute I love it!!!
Try Walmart craft section. I'm pretty sure they have them, plus they have all the stuff to decorate with.
Where did you buy the mirrors that you used as a party favor? i’ve been looking everywhere and nothing..?
That is GORGEOUS! I love the cupcakes, Snow White silhouette, and of course the darling Snow White birthday girl! Every detail of this party is dainty and beautiful — I’m in love! We did a Snow White Party too but it was more of a playful take. It’s amazing how the same themes can be translated so differently. You can see our Snow White Party here:
