A Chalkboard Inspired Wine & Cheese Party
I’m excited to share our Rustic Wine & Cheese Party with you today! This was an outdoor get-together featuring eco-friendly party decor, chalkboard design accents, and simple-but-tasty recipes.
The weather’s been beautiful lately, so an evening backyard party sounded especially fun. PLUS, as much as I love my kids (ages 1 and 3), I really wanted a good excuse to invite some adult friends over for a little wine and grown-up conversation! So that’s exactly what we did. 😉🍷
The Printables
My (customizable) Wine & Chalk printables are available in Design Hero by HWTM! Click here to check them out.
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for…
- Upcycled wine bottles & tin cans – painted and embellished with twine & raffia
- DIY Wine Cork Frames and Wine Cork Hurricane
- DIY bunting banners made from scrap fabric & twine
- Temporarily personalized plates (silhouette chalkboard stickers + chalk)
PARTY DETAILS:
This was a fun & casual Wine & Cheese party we held in our backyard… I wanted it to have a bit of a rustic vibe, so we used elements like chalkboard paint, wood, raffia, twine, and chalkboard-themed printables to create this feel.
Painted tin cans and wine bottles created a nice pop of color… blue might seem like a strange color choice for a wine party, but that’s the color of our backyard, and it makes decorating much easier when your color palette matches your space. It also means you can reuse the decor over and over! 🙌
Food:
- Cranberry Pecan Cheese Balls
- Apricot Almond Cheese Bites
- Prosciutto Wrapped Melon
- {Create Your Own} Bruschetta – (we set out various toppings guests could add)
- Gourmet Cheeses: Garlic & Herb Boursin, Aged Cheddar, Auricchio Reggiano, Smoked Gouda, Castello Rosenborg Danish Blue
Drinks:
- Red Sangria
- Water with Lemon – served in a cool Wine Barrel Dispenser that I forgot to photograph… it’s part of the giveaway though!
- Lots of WINE, of course! ;)
DIY Projects:
- Painted wine bottles embellished with twine & raffia
- Painted & embellished upcycled tin cans with backyard clippings & mini chalk board signs
- Wine cork frames (one all-cork & one a combo of chalkboard paint & corks)
- DIY bunting banner made from scrap fabric and twine
- Wine cork “hurricane” made from 2 nested glass cylinders + recycled wine corks
- “temporarily” personalized plates made from white plates + chalkboard stickers & chalk
- Printable cheese makers

I love the use of chalk and chalkboard material for this party. Black and White are a great combo.
I absolutely LOVE this party. My mom and sister are currently planning a couples shower for me and my partner. They are hosting it at a winery and the design plan features cork and chalkboard accents. My favorite element from this party is the cork frames with the chalkboard–it is a PERFECT addition!
Thanks so much Caryl! So glad we could provide inspiration for shower :) Take pictures, we’d love to see how everything comes together!

what can i say everything about this party was classic style and fun. I loved the trash signs and the names on the plates using the stickers…and i loved the cork frames…
I love the chalkboard signs – both as a place-setting as as signage for food and decor. Such a beautiful way to highlight the theme and to reuse later!
I really love the simple yet “fancy” appetizers and the vase with wine corks displayed is so creative! The chalkboard tags and fun sayings in the frames just pull it all together and take it above and beyond what people would expect! And who doesn’t love a party with Sangria!!! Love it all!!!
I love the whole party…especially the personalized plates with the chalkboard stickers!
I love the upcycle element behind this party! Fun and chic!
All the little details for this party are fantastic – I LOVE the signs! For a wine party, some of my favorite tips to be eco-friendly are to use empty wine bottles as vases. Either with the wine label or with a special label for the party. After the party, you can take some special bottles and find vendors who will cut the bottles and turn them into candle holders or etch them for you!
I love all the printables and the way much of the decor can be reused. Plus , wine and cheese is always a great party plan!
There are so many elements to love! I love the witty humor throughout, from “You had me at Merlot” to “Wine o’clock.” So fun! I also really love the color palette – the blue is so fresh. THank you for sharing your awesome idea so the rest of us can copy!
I love everything about this party bit what I love most is the temporary personalized plates

I love the Compost, Trash and Recycle signs! A super cute way to take care of clean-up and respect the environment. I also love the picnic basket. It is divine!
I love this party! My wheels are turning now!!!! The signs are so cute and clever! I can’t wait to host a wine and cheese party this summer on my patio with some of my girlfriends!!!
Love every detail! Specially the fact that everything used for the party is reusable! If I had to pick a single item though, it’d be the painted wine bottles…
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ” You had me at merlot” sign! I so want to have this exact same party!!!
The whole thing is gorgeous! I have a weakness for upcycled tin cans and bottles – I love decorating cans and bottles – but the cork frame is pretty awesome!
Love this party! I really like the up cycled wine bottles and cans!
I’m so head over heels for the chalkboard look and what has been done with the wine corks!! Now I know what to do with all my saved corks! So cheap and it’s simplicity is adorable!!
I love the signs and labels the most. Such a fun touch!

I love the wine theme!! I think what I love most is the wine cork frames and the painted wine bottles, I can’t wait to try to make these!
Love this party, but I love wine and cheese ;) My eco friendly tip, at my last dinner I used saved wine corks as place card holders and for the “cards” in the wine corks I used leaves from my magnolia tree. The leaves are so great to decorate with and you can also write on them.
I love love the mini chalkboard signs. This looks like it was an awesome party and I for one would have loved to be there. I love the use of the recycled wine bottle decoration !
Absolutely love the creative printable! I could see myself doing this in my backyard with a bunch of girlfriends and some new wines to try. love it!
I love this entire party! My favorite part is the use of chalkboard! I am a sucker for chalkboard! Love it!
I love the appetizers!
Loved that you recycled your old wine corks for great decor. Absolutely my favorite. The whole concept of the party was just cozy, inviting, and very hospitable.
Oh, this is awesome! I Love all the signs especially the one that is in a cork frame “you had me at merlot”
I love the wine cork frames and the cheeseballs! Hopefully I can recreate this one day.

I love you had me at merlot. Enough said!
Love the little plates that guests write their name on. I definitely want to plan a wine & cheese party for my girlfriends.

Love all the chalk board elements! Too cute
Overall awesome! I really love the cork frames, they’d be great with photos from the party later. I can’t wait to try those cheese balls, they look delish.
The whole theme of an eco friendly party that looks upscale with not too much effort or expense is very attractive!
What a lovely party! I think my favorite element is actually one of the smallest details – the raffia-wrapped wine glass stems. It’s such a lovely way to make things look casual and outdoorsy.
I love all the signage! There’s a fun sassy flirty feel to it!
The basket wine holder is super cute! I love all the wine cork details.
I love the chalkboard elements and rustic backyard theme!
LoVe the chalkboard serving plates!
DIY cork frames!
The bunting banner and cork frames are my favs!
Chalkboard seems to be all the rage right now and I am a devout wine lover so the combo is perfect! Makes me long for warmer weather so we can throw our own version in the yard!!
What a fantastic party! I just hosted a wine tasting bridal shower and would have been so much more inspired if I had seen this! Very cute and inspiring! I love the chalkboard paint and the cheese spreaders :)
Great job!
I really liked the little chalkboard sticker on the plates. I’ve seen it done with glasses before, but never plates. Very neat!
I love it all! I would love to have a party with all this amazing stuff! Its so well put together, especially compared to my paper plates and hamburger gatherings. We always have fun, but we’ve never put anything even somewhat close to this. I love all the “cork” items, and the fun sayings!
I think the temporarily personalized plates are great, the food looks excellent, and the frames using the corks are a lot of fun.u
I love the blue and white theme, the chalkboard labels and the use of twine to decorate the wine bottles and cans.

xo Julia
I love the signs for each item! LOVE!!
Love the serving trays! So casual but polished.
I love everything!! I like how you used recycle items and incoroprate it into the party which is what made the party so fun .
I love all of the chalkboard signs and that is a wine theme party. We have too much wine and need to get rid of some. A wine party would be a great way to share.
Thank you for such a generous and stylish giveaway! I am loving the sangria pitchers. There’s something very organic and seamless in their shape. They’d look great at any party I host during the year, no matter the theme.
I love it all. So classic and crisp!! But my favorite element had to be the You had me at Merlot sign!!
I love the wine cork picture frames. They add just an extra special touch.
The DIY cork frames and printables that can be used again for kitchen/other decor. Genius! They are what “pop” to me in the photos. I also use corks and instead of using as namecards I scatter them around with funny wine quotes printed on them that you find online. I send them home with as favors after the party. Acrylic grapes hanging out of empty wine bottles are another favorite for decorating and can be reused later. Love this party ideas!!!
There is so much about this party that I love. But my favorite, the one thing that attracted me to it first, is the ‘you had me at merlet’ sign with wine corks.
Love the cork frames such a great touch for a party but also something that can stay in your house long after the party! Thanks!
I like the Upcycled wine bottles & tin cans
I love everything about this party! I am a big wine fan and have my own wine pairing parties. Love how the corks were reused as a frame and filling the hurricane. Great idea!
I love the Chalkboard theme!!
OH ME OH MY.. I LOVE IT ALL.. I love your signs … I love just wine a bit!!!! I love your variety of cheese’s.. I love your chalkboard elements…. Can you please give us exactly what was served at your party???? All brushetta toppings and etc…. ALL what was served!!!!! It looks delicious and fun!!!! Thank you :)))
I loved the use of the twine. It was a great way to match everything and to “tie” it all together. I also loved the trash, compost, recycle signs. What a great way to dress up your garbage can and make it look like part of the party…instead of an eyesore.
Wow! You have done another amazing job! I really love this party! It is simple, environmentally conscious, and stunning! There were so many things that I likes especially your use of chalkboard paints but my favorite part would be he painted wine bottles and how they were accessorized with colorful yarns and with comment boards coming out of some of them! The wine bottles added pops of color and I really liked that! Thanks for all your inspirations through your designs and skills, I will definitely be using this theme for a girls wine party!!!

Love the DIY bunting banners made from scrap fabric & twine!! this party looks way too awesome for works!!
Love the cork frame!
Wow! So many cute details. That “You Had Me at Merlot” sign is brilliant! The wine cork frames are great, too. Where did you get the cheese cutting knives/forks from? I am planning a beach/wine themed vow renewal for mine & my husband’s 15th wedding anniversary this summer, and just got some inspiration.Thank you :)

A perfect adult party l can do for my lucky husband, thanks
We have porch parties with our neighbors and I am going to do this when it’s my turn. I can’t wait to make the cranberry cheese balls. I love the cork frames and will make these for the party.
In love with the idea of using chalkboards large or small for menu, placecards, decor…I never thought of it but you could use them again and again for different parties, events, and even just fabulous home decor!
Love the signs ! Thanks for sharing the printables too.
Such great ideas! I love the chalkboard labels and signs the most of all!
I totaly love those lables you can write on……
beautiful party!!
I love the all the ways the corks are used.
My favorite element is the cork covered frames. They look great in combination with the chalkboard printables.
I loved the chalkboard stickers on the plates so you could keep up with which plate was yours.
How gorgeous!!! My favorite aspects of this rustic wine & cheese party are the personalized chalkboard plates and the use of upcycled wine bottles for themed decor. So earthy, cute, and environmentally friendly! :)
I love the chalkboard plates!! Never seen them used before!
I love the personalized chalk plates!!
The chalkboard, slate, element used throughout was so complimentary to the natural wine cork aspect of an eco friendly wine tasting. The recycling center signs were the perfect ending to help with the clean up. However, the easiest tip was using twine to tie in the glassware and containers. A tip from me, if you would like to create the wine cork DIY’s and haven’t collected enough of your own corks local bars are willing to donate.
Thank you for the free printables! I’m planning a “Celebrating Life” birthday party for my Momma’s 68th b-day.
She just had a heart valve replaced but also had a huge 9cm thoricic aneurysm repaired in mid Jan. (Caught before rupture. For reference, usually between 4-6cm they’re rushing a patient into surgery). Docs told us she had very little chance of surviving the heart surgery. She has always done so much for everyone else so I want to celebrate her & her amazing “second chance!”
3 weeks later she ended up in another emergency surgery to have her gallbladder removed. Talk about being put through the wringer. I’ve been her private nurse & by her side every minute.
She loves flowers & butterflies and this Eco Friendly theme will be easy to combine to make a very casual, chic, easy & fun party!
Wine, savory hors d’oeuvres, chalkboard accents and eco friendly…what’s not to love! I would have never thought to have a composting station. Awesome!
I loved all the yummy cheeses! Might go eat some blue cheese I have in the fridge right now! Yum!
loving the cork frames!
I love all of your signage- cute & clever :)
Especially like the chalkboard signs…hard to choose just one!…and the food labels, too! These ideas want me want to start planning a party right now! Thanks for the inspiration.
As with other readers, I also love the chalkboard theme! They’re great since you can reuse them in a other party. Even the chalk is cute!!
I love the chalkboard theme! So great that they can be used for another party!
The food, especially the array of cheeses, looks great.
I love, love, LOVE the “temporarily” personalized plates, they are so cute. I’m living in Eastern Europe right now, and find it really difficult to buy biodegradable plates for parties. We do a lot of entertaining, and I hate to waste paper and plastic, but they just don’t have the biodegradable options here. We already use cloth napkins all the time, but this is a brilliant idea that I’m definitely going to try! Thanks!
I LOVED the create your own bruschetta! My friends all like theirs made a little differently, so it’s such a fun idea to allow your guests to personalize to their taste. Also, thanks for the free printables, they are so cute!
I love how the corks were reused throughout the party, but especially with the frames with wine quotes inside! I love the inspiration and will be adding them to my house!
I love the cork frame and chalkboard paint signs.
I love it all but my favorite thing is the wine holder!
I’m in love with all the ways you used the wine corks! How fun!
I love the chalk board elements. The wine-cork saver in the vase then all the ideas for re-using all those corks. Too much fun!
i love the chalkboard elements!
Everything is perfect! I love the simplicity of the decor…..wine corks, chalk,
fun signs even down to the trash can! I turn the big 5-0 next year…I may just
throw this party for myself! :)
Love this! I actually have a wine club that meets at my house, so I’m always looking for ways to upcycle the bottles and corks. I’ve been saving the corks to make trivets, keychains, cheese spreaders and magnets. The bottles I’ve used for olive oil (just clean and add an oil dispenser top), dish soap ( the screw on top bottles work great for pumps) and tiki torches! I think I’ll def have to try this theme for one of our meetings! :)
What a fun party! I love the witty wine signs. It’s “wine-o-clock! Aren’t we lucky” – so cute and clever. And all of the food looks delicious! What a great idea.
I am loving the personalized plates!! Good job!
love the wine rack and cork frames!!! Such a cute party theme.
Love the cork and chalkboard signs! Getting ideas for our daughter’s wedding…she’s thinking of going rustic and they love wine! Thanks for sharing such great ideas!
How do you pick one element of this party to love? As always you have fabulous ideas & remarkable creativity in pulling them off! It is wonderful to see so many ideas pulling from “what you have” and not running out to buy things to fit every theme. Taking trash & turning it into party treasure is inspiring – it makes me want to look at things differently.
Great setup! Love the blue table the food looks so yummy! Great job and thank you for the inspiration!
I love this idea! Clean up will be much simpler, as well!
I LOVE the use of the wine corks in the decorations, so simple yet it adds sooo much!
my favorite was the wine cork frame! thanks!
After 36 weeks of pregnancy, what don’t I love about this party? My favorite element has to be the individual plates with chalkboard labels, so clever! Thank you for sharing!
Oh my gosh, what is not to love! Everything is just perfect…I especially love the chalkboard-themed printables!
I love all the ideas to use with wine corks. I’ve got a big paper sack of them for projects…I also love all the chalk paint. I can’t wait to host a party now!
I love the personalized plates and the slate serving tray!
This party was truly amazing and creative!! My favorite element of the party were the framed quotes.. in a world that revolves around a ” hurry up and do or go” mentality it is important to remember to make time for the little things in life that brings us joy! Whether its a glass of wine, stopping to smell roses, or making our communities better by recycling products..it’s the little details that count!!:))) If I were to win I would use the theme to create awareness about the benefits of recycling and have a sip of wine in the process-Great party!!
I love everything here, but my fave is the printable Trash, Compost, and Recycling station signs.
My family thinks I’m obsessed with recycling. They’re probably right. After every party I go through the trash to make sure that recycling and trash is properly sorted.
I have plans to make some form of the printable trash, compost and recycling station signs for every party (my color coded recycling bags are soooooo not working…lol).
I like the personal plates, and the it is temporary makes it even better.
The entire party is a fabulous idea but I absolutely LOVE the wooden block wine displays!
This is similar to a wedding shower I hosted! It was such a good time. I love this theme and it is beautiful and simple.
Love this party! Where did you get the chalk that has a point for writing on the plates? I need something like that.
Awesome party – can’t go wrong with a wine theme!
I love the wine table set-up. I also love the signs on everything!
i LOVE the wine cork frames/signs…..i have developed an obsession to cork projects that i want to try. i have the corks but have had trouble cutting them so i need to pick back up on that idea and work on all the projects lined up!
I seriously love the whole dang thing……from concept (cheese & wine…count me in!) to the details (who knew trash and recycle bins could be so classed up!). I love the sangria pitchers because they are so versatile and the serving pieces…..relaxed and chic. I want to be invited to this party!
I love the cheese board with the chalkboard markers!!
I love this party idea! I like to get together with my girlfriends once a month and this is a MUST next party. I love the printables, it makes the party!

Such a great theme that can be used for any occasion! My favorite is ALL the printables – and the sangria, yummmm!
I think I just love everything! :)
I like the chalkboard signs and chalkboard touches throughout the theme. Everything is perfect for a wine and cheese get together.
I love having an easy place for guests to recycle! Gorgeous party
This party looks so fun! Everything about it is something I love and would want to do! My favorite idea that I’ve never thought of is the plates with chalkboard stickers- what a great way to personalize and be eco friendly!
Cute! I love all the cork and chalkboard elements to this party!
Wonderful eco-friendly ideas! I love all of the upcycled items as well as the re-usable chalkboard features.
I love everything about this party, but I think the wine cork frame looks like something I could finally do with all my leftover wine corks!
I love love love this party!!!! I especially love the upcycled wine bottle decorations!! It is so nice to re-purpose items! It adds an eclectic feel, and it is good for the earth!
I seriously love this party so much that it’s hard to pick a favorite item, but just based on uniqueness, I’d say the glass wine barrel dispenser.
Amazing party! Ilove the mini chalkboard signs, personalized plates and cheese balls
I really could use that Wine Rabbit. Everything is so cute.
My husband and I have been itching to do a wine/cheese tasting party and now we are inspired! I adore the Tasting Plates with name chalkboard signs. They are a perfect way to personalize.
Love the chalkboard elements!
I adore those chalkboard stickers. What a fabulous idea to label dishes temporarily for a party!
My favorite element is the slate cheese boards! Simple and classic. I’m expecting a baby girl at the moment, but would totally put all this to use soon after she arrives!
My favorite eco-friendly party tip, as shown here, is to use real glasses / silverware / plates. It makes it feel special, and no plastic in the trash!
Love this party in general, but specifically love all of the different uses of the corks. My sista and I keep all of our corks and craft stuff out of them. I pinned a couple ideas to my PINTEREST page so I can get back to the craft studio once this dang snow goes away.
My favorite part is the silhouette chalkboard material used to temporarily personalize things and make cool signs
i love the serving utensils! great party idea for a girls weekend!
I gave my dad one of those cheese slates for Christmas a few years ago, he loves it! That cork frame looks SO easy, I’ve added it to my craft list and the 3-tiered bottle holder is tres chic! Party with a purpose!
I love the printables – so fun and cheeky! Awesome job!
Pretty “CHEESE”, pick me, pick me! I adore the cleverly worded printables shown here, great job HWTM! Thank you for the opportunity and I do hope I am a “WINE-R!” :) SDT
My favorite element is the white plates with the chalkboard stickers. It takes the simple, plain white plates and turns them into an unexpecte, fun, and personalized element of the party! I love the combinations of the chalk-esque signs, use of corks, and all the other natural and upcycled elements!
My favorite element is the cork picture frames! A great decor element and a great way to use leftover corks!
I love all the chalkboard signs. Looks so rustic!
Love, love, love this party! I think the chalkboard elements are my favorite! Adorbs!
I love it all, especially the white tray and chalkboard signs :)
This is the best party idea. Very rustic and fun!

I always have a separate bag or can for recyclables
I’m a huge fan of the cork frames!! Who knew throwaway corks can be so adorable?! This whole party scene is amazing!!
I absolutely LOVE this party! I love the cork frame and the food tags so much! And the painted wine bottles are too cute. ~ Denise
I love the temporarily personalized plates
I really love the chalkboard labels that are gorgeous and reusable. The whole party looks amazing! :)
What a great party and amazing details! I love the personalized plates and the cork frames. Such a fun DIY project :)
Beautiful party! My favorite element would be all the unique faux chalkboard signs mixed in with the real chalkboard elements. Great combo!
I love the chalkboard style!
I love how pretty everything is! What a fun party! The food looks amazing and I am going to have to try that cheese ball recipe!
Love all the details to this grown up party, especially the frames. Now I know what I am going to do with all the corks I have collected!
I love everything about this party! Wine and cheese are two of my very favorite things in the world.
I love the wine bottle UPcycle , since they are always available and with some string acetone and fire you can make a planter with the wine bottles when they are done also. Hand them out as Thank you gifts later on :)
I love all the chalkboard elements. So personal!
Love, love this whole party!! My favorite item are the plates with chalkboard labels!
I love everything about the party, but especially the the wine cork frame!
You had me at Merlot!!!
I loved the frames with the wine corks!
LOVE the corch frame, and I just love the chalk trend and it was beautifully done here.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have been all about chalk board painting anything I can, So I love the idea of using/re-using it for parties.
I love that the party doesn’t seem to “done up”…like, I could really throw it together and not be sweating when guests arrive…which is always a dream of mine.
Love all of the ways you can use recycled objects as party decor! I will definately use some of these ideas when I host my wine party fundraiser for the March for Babies this spring. Thanks!
The entire party looks great! I am loving the use of the chalkboard paint. I must do this!
LOVE the custom plates with chalk!
Love the chalkboard labels!
Classy and cute! Love the simplicity and the fact that you are recycling!
Cute photo frame with the wine bottle corks!
I seriously can’t pick just one element as my favorite!! The personalizing in order to use real plates and glasses. That is my most favorite eco part and party element.
I love the chalkboard elements. So fun and simple and they work really well with the wine and cheese theme. I also love use of the wine corks. Very unique and fun!
I absolutely love everything about this party! I love all the labels (I always use labels at parties!) and all of the signs with cute sayings. I would love to use this for a bridal shower I’m hosting!
I really like the cork frames.
Love all of the super chic labels and frames and i am BANANAS over the gorgeous cheese forks!
My favorite ecofriendly hosting tip is to use reusable dishes and silverware rather than plastic!
I love it ALL! Especially the chalkboard signs everywhere! Even the trash can looks adorable!
Oh wow I love the shades of blue and the personalized plates!
I love the cork picture frames and labeled trash cans!
What a great idea. I love the reusable labels! Another to make the party even more eco is in terms of the kind of food you serve. Sourcing the cheese from local companies and the fruit in season from the area will not only make the party more eco but can limit waste by having less packaging that needs to be thrown away while you are preparing for the party.
I am the queen of recycling. Everything about this party appeals to me.
I love the incorporation of all things chalkboard – it really brings together a theme of FUN and makes everything seem more personalized! I really love and appreciate those little details!!! :)
I love it all! But I especially like the mini chalk board signs!
I love the chalk board elements. So customizable for ever party!
What’s not to love! The chalkboard plates are a great idea and I love all the labels and subway art.
It’s great that you guys are focusing on reducing waste because it does add up when trying to decorate for a party. I liked the reusable chalkboard signs and I actually have some of those that I used for my shower. I also tried to used some fabric as table cloths/runners to tie in the color scheme (after washing, I plan to use it for other things) and the paper I used for bunting will be recycled in my scrapbook.
Everything about this wine and cheese party is amazing. You didn’t miss a thing, even labelling the recycle, garbage, etc. Love it all!
I love the chalk board sticker idea for temporary personalization! Fun ideas!
Fav element is the use of containers/plates/baskets which add texture & height to the table.
I love the mini chalkboard signs and the re-purposed wine bottles. Brilliant!
What an awesome idea: a party with only one bag of garbage remaining! How many times has a party ended and we have bags and bags of trash remaining (paper cups, napkins, plates, utensils, tablecloths. . .you get it). I’ve been meaning to label my trash cans as well, so thank you very much for the free printables. The wine and cheese theme turned out beautifully, might I add. Bravo!
I really love writing your guest’s name on the plate. It’s helpful to keep them from going back for multiple, wasted dishes!
my fav element is of course the wine! love red sangria :)
I love the whole party – especially the chalkboard signage used throughout!
I love the printable food labels and the chalk board labels. So cute and so much easier than remembering what all the cheeses are after a few glasses of wine :)
The wine and cork frames are so unique and chic at the same time! Love it!
This is my kind of party! I don’t know what I love more, the cork frame + printable or all the delicious food!
Coincidence! I just put the cheese knives set on my Pottery Barn wish list a few weeks ago! We are planning a Tuscan themed spring dinner party so this would be perfect!
I love those signs in the cheese… and of course the sign that says “You had me at Merlot!”!
I love the chalkboard plates, nice touch!
My favorite element is the cheese knife set. To die for! Your party has given me great inspiration for a Bastille Day Soiree I’m throwing this summer. Thank you!
I loved the banner made with scrap fabric and twine! So beautiful!
I love the wine cork decor elements – I think they’re casual but still grown-up.
What don’t I like about this party! It’s amazing! If I had to choose, it would be the wine table, it’s perfect!
When we have trees removed that have not faired well in the winter weather, we have our tree-man cut the logs into thinner pieces. We have the kids treat and stain the wood pieces and use them as hostess gifts paired with a cheese knife.
This is my kind of party! Love it all, but my favourite element is the use of chalk and corks – I especially like the ‘you had me at merlot’ sign! Clever ;-)
The best part of a party is the food! No the drinks! Wait, I’m supposed to say company, but come on, it’s totally the desserts.
I love the cork decorations! And the printables are super cute!!!
I am loving the chalkboard and cork frames, so cute!!
I love the chalkboard theme!
I love the wine o’clock sign.
Love the chalkboard elements, especially the plate labels. Also love the bunting!
I am a big fan of the chalkboard elements. They are such a nice touch and can be reused over and over again. Plus, changing chalk color makes it a versatile look.
Using empty wine bottles and black and white chalk paint are not only cute but after the party you can use the bottles as mini note/bulletin boards. Reprupose and reuse is surely a was to limit waste and make use of something you would have normally tossed to away (hopefully into a recycling bin).
I love the little plant markers! I could see them being used after the party and what a green favor!
I’m really enjoying reading your blog. May I suggest using two barrel planters to create tables. Put one empty planter upside down on the other planter and it should be just the right height for cocktail tables or to create a buffet table and will have the rustic look that is just right for this party. It’s a green idea as you can use the planters after the party to create a fabulous potted garden.
Everything is fantastic! I really love the cork-frame chalkboard! You’ve done a great job, guys!
I absolutely love this party in its entirety! The simplicity of it combined with fabulous details is perfection. The witty signage was genius:)! LOVE!
Eco-friendly tip: Use reusable plates, glasses and utensils, to minimize garbage going to the landfill.
I have been collecting my wine corks for a while now…but not really knowing what to do with them. These frames are so cute and could have tons of different uses! Weekend project!
I love the use of chalk and chalkboard material for this party. Black and White are a great combo.
I love the bins for compost, recycle and trash. Awesome idea that I’ll have to use at my next big party.
Love everything about this! Especially the chalk and chalkboard material and the vintage feel of the overall party!
I love the serving trays and using the chalk on the black tags on the white plates! SO cute!! And who knew wine corks could be useful?
7.5 Liter Glass Barrel Tank is my favorite item shown. It could be used for so many wonderful drinks.
Love the wine rack and the chalkboard use…so so fun
I would say my favorite element would be the twine wrapped wine glasses, customizing that basic item we all have!
I like the use of the corks, particularly the frames. We have a lot of corks (perhaps a few too many!) and there are some great ideas here for decorating with them.
I recently had a wine and cheese party and used a lot of elements like the chalkboard signs – the guests went wild over them! My favorite thing from this party has to be the creative use of wine corks to solidify the theme – I managed to collect enough from this last party to be inspired to use them in the next one just like in this party!
This looks like a great party! Im not soo sure I can pick just one thing I like because it all looks spectacular! I love wine :)
I love that it’s a perfect combo of classy and casual…plus, you can’t go wrong with wine!!! I would love this set to use during the up-coming Colorado summer!
I love how you used the twine and string. It really adds just the right touch without taking away from anything.
Love the flatware and the personalized plates! Fun!
I am obsessed ! So fabulous and I would be so happy to win ! And might even “wine” a bit if I don’t :)
Love it all, but particularly all of the chalkboard elements! So pretty!
The corks used as a centerpiece – very creative use of something that usually gets tossed aside.
I love everything!! But I especially love the sign that says “There’s always time for a glass of wine”
Loving all the signage and can containers for the foliage!
i am loving the thought of getting girlfriends together and having a get together and eating different cheeses and wines and gossiping on a lovely sping/summer day.. or having a romantic picnic with your loved one and feeding one another ..mmmmm good ideas.. thanks

I think the personalized plates are just the cutest & smartest thing I’ve seen in a long time!
I love the frames made out of wine corks… gives me ideas of what to do with the jar full in my ktichen :)
Love how you’ve thought of everything! Right down to the jute on the wine glasses! Keeping it classy, but rustic! Sometimes a hard thing to pull off, but you’ve done it beautifully here! Also love the chalkboard labels for the cheeses! How many times have you thought you were getting manchego and ended up with a bland cheese?? Fantastic job!
I love the printables with the rustic chalkboard look!
So hard to pick a favorite but silhouette chalkboard stickers would have so many additional uses as well!
Wine AND cheese…. what’s not to love! The corks used in a variety of ways – so clever! Love!! Thanks for including the recipes too!
Fantastic party! I love the pops of color, but REALLY love all the use of chalkboard (I used to be a teacher!).
OMG! I love all of it! But especially the chalkboard stickers and the DIY wine cork frames!
Such a beautiful idea!
I love the chalkboard labels on the plates and the use of twine on the wine glasses. Beautiful!!
I love the ribbon and twine wrapped around the wine glasses and the DIY banner.
By far the most fabulous things are the “temporarily” personalized chalkboard items. So many different ones. There are so many other theme parties you could use these for. Fabulous
I absolutely LOVE the chalkboard food signs. I think they are a great way to carry on the theme of a party and at the same time help you guests know what each item is!
Love this. So many reasons why, but what really caught my eye was the cans dressed up as vases! I have said on more than one occassion that I wish I could think of more uses for them bc we seem to have a ton in our recycling bin. Going to pull some out to dress up for my son’s bday party in a few weeks!
i love all of the elements of this party! the cheese platters are so beautiful and chalkboard stickers are so cute! amazing!
I love it all but my favorites are the chalkboard stickers on the plates and the chalkboard printables in the cork frames!

My favorite thing about the party are those serving plates! How amazingliy beautiful and simple.
The styling of these products is gorgeous. Seeing them all together makes it really hard to pick out a favorite, but I do love those silver cheese knives!
My favorite element is anything that uses corks! I love repourposing corks into wall art or trivets!
Love everything about this wine party!! Signs are great touches!
I love the chalkboard labels!!
I love the use of the corks as frames, etc. I have a four foot vase full of corks on the floor in my dining room and ive been wondering how i could use them in cute ways. i will be moving into a new house and i am going to use these party ideas for our housewarming party!

I love the sticky blackboard labels – so useful for labelling jars in the cupboard that don’t always contain the same ingredients time after time!
Love the Cambridge 2 tiered server!
So many awesome elements but the upcycled bottle center pieces are my favorite, so cute and easy to make!
There are SO many great elements in this party!! I do love how you made a frame from the wine corks. I actually save my corks as mementos from fun events or just a good bottle of wine. I’ve been looking for something crafty to do with them & that frame around a chalkboard would be perfect!! :)
WOW! I just LOVE the slate used to present the cheeses and using the corks to decorate the frame is just awesome…the soup cans “upcycled” is one of my favorite tricks-I use them all the time! This is just perfect for my next girls-night!!
Love the cohesive use of chalkboard and black and white. The cobalt blue color gives the look a nice pop of color!!! The food looks delicious!!
I love all the creative uses for the corks incorporated into this awesome party! I am using this wonderful party for my mom’s 65 birthday!
So beautiful! My favorite eco friendly party tip is cloth napkins! They can be classy or rustic, and they prevent people (um, me) from having to use three paper ones for one meal.
LOVE the chalkboard theme!! Especially the chalkboard stickers for personalization. :)
I love everything about this post! I’m planning a wine and cheese party for an office party and all of these supplies would be perfect. We love wine and cheese here! I especially love the use of the chalkboard signs – they’re so much easier and simpler than buying chalkboard paint!

I love the entire idea and the things you post are always something we can do!!
I like how you were able to take something that is considered “ugly” (the garbage can) and make it look so cute with the chalkboard labels. Having 3 “cute” cans one for garbage, recycling, compost, makes being eco friendly look creative and fun.
This is such a great way to take an elegant affair and make it just a little more casual and relaxed. Great for a ladies night in, or a mid-afternoon get-together. Love it!
I love the upcycled wine bottles!! I’m always on the lookout for ways to use our (sometimes more extensive than others ) collection of empties!

I love the use of wine bottles as decorations!
Love it all, but I guess the antique cheese spreaders are the ones I like the most.
My favorite element of this party is the use of the chalk/chalkboard. It creates a perfect fit for wine/cheese (usually slate is common for cheese display, so chalkboard is a nice compromise) and it’s something you can use for other parties in the future. Recycle/reuse!!!

I love the personalized plates! All of the pictures are adorable!!

Love everything!! Especially love the wine cork frames!
Love the teal, white, black combo! Tip: we try to use natural serving bowls-watermelon for fruit salad, Parmesan cheese bowls for salads, etc!
honestly brilliant! This is definitely an excuse to get a sitter and bring over the ladies…wohoo! I like to swap paper napkins for bright bandanas or similar sized scarves from the dollar store. They’re reusable and add instant flair to your table. Plus, they double as favors or goodie bags: Your guests can add it to their wardrobe and/or use them to wrap up cookies and other treats to take home =)

Loved the white plates with the names written on!
I love everything about this party!
I love the cork frames! And the pitchers… I’m a sucker for pitchers.
Too sweet! The best part about it, is that it doesn’t even look like you’re trying to minimize waste. It simply looks like a beautifully set spread that *just happens* to be made of recycled items. Good work!
What’s my favorite thing in this party? Where to start??? Everything is quite amazing and it would be perfect for us! My hubby and I have always dreamt of having a wine-themed corner in our house, with all things whine and cheese. These would be the culmination of a dream and the start of endless parties! I am in love with simplistic use of common material, and not having pressure to make it perfect.
I loved the bite-sized appetizers.
This party is adorable, but I especially love the wine cork frames — they’d be great as a gift with a picture of a girls’ wine night!

i love the olivewood cheese board and the upcycled corks!! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love the “Wine o’clock” frame and sign. (And the party as a whole! What a great theme!)
I am definitely going to re-use the wine bottles, cans and pottery for my next tasting party. I plan on taking creative license and use beer bottles for signage and vases as well. This post has made me aware of the Glad’s One Bag Party initiative. I hadn’t heard about it before. Thank you!
My Ecofriendly party tip… Use small mason jars for serving cold beverages. After the party they are reusable for another party, canning, togo meals & much more.
I love the wine cork picture frames! Truthfully, I love everything about this party!
My fiance and I are actually hosting our own engagement wine and cheese party in mid May. Wine and cheese is one of our favorite things so what better way than to bring it into a party. Our wedding is going to be a rustic/vintage theme so this fits right in. I absolutely LOVE everything you did with this look. I do love the “you had me at merlot” saying. That is too cute. Thanks for all the tips and will keep my fingers crossed on being a winner :)
Cork frame is adorable!

What a fun party! My favorites are the chalkboard labels, Sangria pitchers, and the cheese. I’m pretty sure I could live on cheese.

I love the chalkboard signs – especially “oh look, it’s wine o’clock. How convenient for us”
Whenever I host a get together, I veer toward plastic & paper products. I’d rather use glass & maybe the environmental friendly aspect can help push me to use my beautiful glassware. This wine party looks so amazing.. The twine really pulls together the rustic theme. Love it!
Oh my gosh, this is amazing! I love the personalized plates with chalkboard stickers! So cute.
Those slate trays are amazing and I love that you used old bottles for decor. I have a collection of bottles and cans myself that I keep on hand for parties, they are easily available, Eco friendly and so versatile!
This all would go just lovely with my home made plumbrillo (plum jelly) made from our very own plum tree’s. Yummy. P.S stealing the cork picture frame idea, love it.
I love, love, love this party! My friends always make me feel I am the crazy one when I am separating the recycleables or by eco-friendly products. I try to do my part because I care about where I live and how long it will be here when I am gone. Seeing your party showed them that you can have fun while participating in saving the environment. Thanks HWTM!
We always save our wine corks rather toss them, they make for great craft projects. But I do love the idea of painting the empty wine bottles and using them as a vase.
I love the good food and wine! :)
v_theberge@hotmail.com
LOVE the cork frame. I have been collecting my corks for some time trying to figure out what to make with them, and I think I will try this one!!!!
The wine bar!! And a great eco-friendly tip from me would be to make sure you compost and recycle!
Love love Love the chalkboard! I am planning my hubby’s 40th birthday (every man’s quincenera! lol) and am working on a wine theme. The chalkboard is great! Definitely using that and have now decided to use the blue thanks to you! I cut a slits on corks that I had collected and was planning on using them for menu cards and place settings.. just an Eco friendly idea to go along with the theme!
My eco-friendly tip is that I have (over the last 2 years) collected all white plates, all clear water glasses / goblets, all white napkins, all white tablecloths and the cleanup after a party is minimal. Much less waste w/o using paper plates, paper cups, paper napkins. White goes with everything and we just decorate with actual decorations and string/ribbon/paper that gets used over and over for many different parties.
Favorite element of this bunch? love the chalkboard stickies on each plate for a person’s name. Great idea!
i love the mini chalkboard signs
I love your cheese spreaders. Classy.
Love the chalkboard labels!
Love the chalkboard labels, because I’m a monogram fanatic this also adds that personal touch!
Love the chalkboard signs! What a great way to use easy to find items to make the decor really pop. Beautiful!
I am in LOVE with everything you did for this party. I am going to have a wine and cheese party myself, is it possible to edit the cheese labels? That way I can use them for whatever cheese I choose? Or, do you offer a blank one? That I can write my own names into after printing? Thanks!!
Hi Nicole, thanks so much! We have customizable options on our Hostess Ink Store here. (they arrive printed, cut and shipped to your door!) or for a last minute option we have printable cards in our Etsy shop here. good luck and have fun planning!
Wow love this post. Thanks for the great ideas – I used some for my girl’s night last weekend.
Thank you so much, so great to hear!
Hi there, I was wondering if these printables are still available – they do not seem to download when I click the link!
The wine corks are incorporated in so many ways! They tie the entire party theme together. Love it! Very classy and fun!
Hi there! Is there a printable for the menu shown in your first picture? Great job by the way! Looks amazing!
