Wonderlandia Table #3: Pink & Orange, Tea-Inspired Wedding Theme

Pink Orange Wonderlandia Wedding, Tea Party

As a huge fan of Heather Ham‘s work and vintage-meets-modern style, it’s no surprise that the Wonderlandia table design she created {for our Glue Dots Tablescape Exhibit} was nothing short of stunning! Heather’s table was tailored to a Wedding celebration and featured tons of gorgeous flowers blossoming from all-white tea pots and candlestick holders, which provided a nice contrast to the arrangements and really made the colors POP!

I’m also loving the contrast between the rich, vibrant colors of the flowers and the more subdued hues of the table linens and paper details… you might say it’s a “perfect marraige”! *wink* – couldn’t resist! Bottles of Sparkling Grapefruit IZZE sat atop “Drink Me” tags in an ode to the Wonderland theme, bands of satin ribbon were used to dress up the napkins, and contemporary patterns adorned the invitations and stationery.

CREATIVE DETAILS, as told by Heather

“I wanted to do something very summery and bright with the color scheme. I wanted a neutral palette for the table and used a tuscany linen from La Tavola in their Limestone color to help the flowers really pop. Peony & Plum, my go-to florist, used all white containers including ceramic water pitchers, teapots, cups, saucers, creamers, and white candle sticks. We also propped up one of the water pitchers on a white cake plate to add a little bit of height.

Peony & Plum used an array of flowers including: fuchsia garden roses, fuchsia & orange dahlias, green hydrangea, orange mums, yellow billy balls, yellow parrot tulips, orange ranunculus, and green trick carnations. We used Glue Dots to help adhere the cups & saucers to the candle sticks, as well as to make sure the menu cards didn’t fly away. Those Glue Dots are definitely going into my emergency kit from now on!

The extra little details included an invitation, menu cards, “drink me” signs, and table name by Blue Magpie Invitations. We named the table after a type of tea, “Darjeeling“, to help tie in the tea party aspect of Alice in Wonderland. The menu also had several tea-infused items that sounded truly yummy. We also used some of the scraps of fabric that was used for the invitation to wrap around the bouquet and help tie it all in.

I knew early on I wanted to incorporate Izze bottles into the decor so I placed them atop the “drink me” signs and the Sparkling Grapefruit Izze matched the shade of the napkin, Tuscany Crush, almost perfectly. I was so happy with how the table turned out and was truly honored to be hand picked by Jenn to do this tablescape. Thank you for the opportunity!!!”

How Glue Dots were used on this table:

  • to hold the menus in place on the plates
  • to attach the cups & saucers to the candle sticks
  • to secure the “drink me” signs so they didn’t fly away!
