PARTY DETAILS, as told by Shawnte

Our daughter Alaia loves Veggie Tales… so for her 3rd birthday she asked, “Mommy, can you make a Veggie Tales birthday?”. Of course I said yes and then ventured on to the challenge. I have to admit I could not find very many Veggie Tales ideas or decorations– that’s when the brainstorming began. After tons of brainstorming I decided that I would “DIY” with ALL decorations and sweets. Alaia’s 3rd birthday party incorporated lots of purple and pink with all the Veggie Tale characters, lunch, dessert table, face painting, coloring table, and we hired a balloon twister. The lunch menu: cheeseburgers, veggies, fruit salad, apple juice, lemonade, special made water bottles, and chips. The dessert table consisted of a purple rose cake (that was topped with Bob and Larry), Bob and Larry sugar cookies, #3 flower sugar cookies, a lollipop tree, fudge brownies, cake pops, push-up pops, taffy bouquet, and homemade old fashioned candy buttons. I then used my Cricut machine to create a glitter Happy Birthday banner, giant 3’s to hang throughout the ceiling, face painting sign, welcome sign, and name signs for the vases of the taffy centerpieces. My two favorite pieces of Alaia’s birthday had to be the back drop floral number three behind the dessert table and the welcome sign outside that everyone saw before they entered her party. We recently moved, so I used the SOLD sign and transformed it to make a beautiful welcome sign.  Lastly, all of Alaia’s friends took home a purple goodie bag filled with fun surprises.  Despite having to move the party last minute due to the Black Forest Fire here in Colorado, I feel like we were able to pull off a Veggie-Tale-themed party and our daughter had a wonderful day surrounded with family and friends. What a blessing to celebrate our daughter’s 3rd birthday.

Love the cookies and decorations! Can be used for a “girlie” party too. Even big girls love to have frills and thrills. Thanks so much,

Every thing in this party looked Awesome! I think that it is so neat how things were made by Shawnte and not other vendors. It gives inspiration to those of us who can’t afford to pay vendors.

I have ran into the same problem but even bigger! I have decided to do a Veggie Tales princess party, since the only princess stories my girls are allowed to watch are Veggie tales. I can't find much so I'm gonna attempt to make them myself with what I can find online. Maybe I can post my ideas online lol

Any chance you would have left over fabric that her adorable dress was made from? I can’t find this pattern anywhere and need just a little for my daughters bday party this May!
