With the big game just around the corner, here is the last installment to our It’s Game Time Football Party. We’ll show you how to make our Referee Stripe Backdrop + themed props for a football party photo booth! And don’t worry, we kept it budget friendly so you can splurge on snacks, drinks and those tempting football squares. ;)
*****
MATERIALS
– Flat black sheet
– Flat white sheet
– Free standing backdrop stand (or a way to hang your backdrop)
– Iron
– Small safety pins
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Create strands with your sheet: every 3 inches cut a slit in the fabric, then tear it the rest of the way. Once you have all of your strips, iron for a crisp look.
2. Loop each piece about 5 inches over the top bar on the backdrop stand.
3. Safety pin the fabric together to secure it over the bar. Continue this until you fill the entire backdrop stand with strips, then grab your whistles, pom poms and get ready to craft up some easy sports fan hand props!

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

2. Hot glue a strip of card stock to the back with enough room to slip your fingers through.

This is very cute and the ripped edges add a fun layer of texture. But if you’re feeling lazy and have an IKEA nearby, you can buy yourself a few yards of their black and white striped fabric for the same look. It’s a nice heavy cotton, almost like canvas weight.
Great info about Ikea! It’s $7.99/yd on their website. My other idea since the walls are white is to use black crepe paper strands with space between so the white wall shows.
What a great idea just in time for the SuperBowl! I’m suggesting some of these for a party we’re having next Sunday.
The idea of the b&w stripes add a chic edge to the sporty scene!
Love the Black and white design. Fun and classy! Going to give this a try, just one week until our superbowl party!
Classy! I had a DIY photo booth at our Christmas brunch and it was a hit! Though I won’t be hosting a Super Bowl party, I immediately shared your idea with my friend who is. I SO hope she will do it. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome idea. The striped background gives the party so much character! Thanks for sharing!
