If you love non-traditional holiday colors and retro modern flair, this Cricut project is for you!
I had a few goals in mind when designing these Winter Holiday Placemats and matching table runner:
- Versatility – There’s a nod to winter sparkle here, but the shapes and layout of this project make it versatile enough to work for year-round entertaining, too.
- Trying Out New Materials – This project is the first time I’ve experimented with Holographic Iron-On and Cricut Stencil Material. And it definitely won’t be the last. 😉
- Layering – This is also the first time I’ve tried layering Iron-On materials, and it was surprisingly easy! Getting comfortable with layering your materials definitely opens up a lot of fun design possibilities. 🙌
Mod and Merry Collection
For this project, I used my Wild Rose Cricut Explore Air 2 + the Modern Cheer Iron-On Sampler from my own Mod and Merry designer line for Cricut. 💖Pssst…. All of my Cricut lines are available exclusively at JOANN – both in-stores & online! – right now. 🤗
Below is a peek at the project in Cricut Design Space… click here to head over there now.
The navy placemats and table runner that I used as the foundation of this project are from Target (Threshold™ brand). I really love how the iron-on materials picked up the texture of the fabric. The patterned material almost looks screen-printed on!
The smaller accent details were added with paint and Cricut Stencil Vinyl. Instead of buying fabric paint, I mixed a fabric medium into regular acrylic paint to make it suitable for fabric! This gives you access to WAY more color options. 🙌
It took a few coats of paint to get things nice and opaque, but I love how everything turned out! Hope you can have some fun with this one too. :)
And speaking of Mod and Merry, here’s another one of my projects that’s coming soon to both Design Space and Creativebug, too! Sneak peek below… I hope you’ll come check it out in full detail on November 20th. 😊
