manly 30th birthday party invitations

Karrie and Elizabeth from Posh Paperie designed this super clever & creative “ASCOTS, CARDIGANS, & BOW TIES” party to celebrate the 30th birthday of Karrie’s husband – (who also happens to be Elizabeth’s brother!) – “manly style“. All of the guests in attendance were asked to wear one of these items, which always makes for fun pics… and “party decor”! ;)

From “Manly Munchies” and custom matchbooks to a scrumptious-looking dessert bar á la Sweet and Saucy, the fabulous stationery elements by Karrie & Elizabeth really pulled everything together perfectly. Read on for lots more fun pics & party details…

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Elizabeth

“When my sweet brother, Brian (and Karrie’s awesome husband!) turned 30, Karrie came up with THE cutest theme ever for his party: Ascots, Bowties and Cardigans – with the ‘requirement’ that everyone attending wear one of those items!

The party was held at a funky, contemporary restaurant in San Diego (URBN) – and the food was amazing! Pizzas (bbq chicken, mashed potato & margherita), several kinds of beer & a few really amazing salads.

Melody Brandon of  the Sweet and Saucy Shop catered the dessert bar – which was divine, as always! She made custom sugar cookies, mini pumpkin cupcakes, mini apple streusel cupcakes, vanilla macarons, red velvet cake ball lollipops and peach pie on a stick. YUM! :)

Karrie and I had so much fun designing the paper products. Karrie came up with the fun and different color palette of pennyite (bronze), mint and lake blue. We did a cute striped blue mount on top of shimmery pennyite and brought all of the colors in to the printed invitation. We also used a velvet ric rac that was a pumpkin color, to add some ‘detail’ – but still keeping the invitation masculine.

We also did a ‘favor’ station with mini pumpkin candles and custom-made matchbooks featuring artwork from the invitations.

The kids enjoyed a coloring & silly putty station…and there was also a ‘Brian’s Favorite Snacks’ bar with sesame snaps, bubble mint cigars, caramel popcorn & butter mints.

Of course, we designed tons of paper to display all around the restaurant…and had so much fun with every piece!”

Jessica Lampe SO WHAT I'M ALLOWED TO GOOGLE MANLY 30TH BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS OKAY. And I'm sorry, but "Ascots and Cardigans" have NOTHING to do with bein' a MANLY MAN. This party is an outrage to manliness everywhere.
