A Very Pretty Craft-Store Christmas
I’m in love with the crafty-meets-contemporary style of these “Craft-Store Holiday Decorating” ideas from Real Simple!
Pictured above: clever ideas like wrapping blank art canvases with ribbon for mantle decor, using sheets of red felt as place mats and wooden beads & yarn for a table runner, and creating a pretty candle arrangement or modern Menorah from unfinished candlesticks.
And that cool, wooden floating chandelier? It’s made from wooden quilting hoops, which really do resemble the look of a holiday ball ornament when criss-crossed together!
A few more favorites:
Pictured above:
- knitting needle place card holders,
- wooden gift tags,
- jolly
- happy styrofoam snowmen,
- jingle bells door ornament,
- And holiday “stockings” made from canvas tote bags.

What simple and clever ideas! Makes me look at my craft supplies in a whole new way!
Wow, i am completely in love with the canvas art…
Love the simple decorations. I figure if you have ribbon and fresh flowers you’re all set for the holidays. A home doesn’t need to look like someone “threw up” Christmas to look decorated.
omg! I completely love your site! great ideas!
