HELLO Issey! Kate of Kiss Me Kate Events styled this classic red and white Hello Kitty Birthday Party for her daughter Isabella’s 4th birthday. I am giddy over her super cute dessert table of course (it’s her specialty!)… and I particularly LOVE those super creative kitty shaped donuts from Big Lou’s Donuts!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kate…

After 2 boys, I was so excited to put this party together for my daughter Isabella. Issey is Hello Kitty mad and she talked about having a Hello Kitty Party for nearly 6 months! What I loved about putting this party together was that it was a real “mummy and me” job! I involved Isabella in everything from the desserts to the contents of the favor bags. As we we were on a budget for this party, we utilised everything (aside from the backdrop) from props we had around the home, the platters were blank canvases which we painted pale pink and the favor bags were all home made with loads of cutting and pasting! The printables were purchased from Etsy, and Vivian from Envy Anvi kindly customised the backdrop to include Issey’s name. As Issey loves Hello Kitty, we nickname her Hello Issey, so it was a sentimental touch to include this on the backdrop.

Desserts included Vanilla Bean Cookies, Vanilla Cupcakes and pale pink vanilla cake pops. The cake was a gluten and dairy free chocolate cake. I was also lucky enough to have custom donuts made by a local donut shop who were very excited to create custom “Kitty” donuts for Issey. Using a cookie cutter and embosser, the Hello Kitty Vegemite sandwiches were a HUGE hit! Watermelon and strawberries were cut into little love hearts – another novel idea to display fruit for little ones. Little honey pots were filled with petit miam strawberry yoghurt. As the party was for 4 year olds, I did try to make the dessert table somewhat healthy! Rather than fill the favor bags with lollies, I purchased little hello kitty favor toys and jewellery from eBay. I also printed off hello kitty colouring pages and included little hello kitty pencils.

The party was hosted by Christina at Petit Atelier. A beautiful craft shop and the perfect venue for any child’s party. Christina arranged blank canvases which the girls painted and created a Hello Kitty craft to past on.  All the girls got to take home their creations. They had so much fun! So did mum!
