Jacqui of Buttons and Beau Event Design put a charming vintage twist on this whimsical, Alice in Wonderland inspired children’s tea party!

The edible “tea cups” made of big marshmallows with candy loop handles are such a clever addition to the tea party menu! Also loving the vintage flag bunting backdrop, “drink me” bottles embellished with doilies, and topsy turvy cake that Jaqui topped with sparkly fondant hearts. PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jacqui

The party theme was Alice in Wonderland in a mad hatters tea party style. I wanted to create a tea party whimsical feel with a slight vintage twist.

The children drank pink lemonade from mini milk bottles labelled ‘drink me’ and apple juice ‘tea’ from cups and saucers. I had vintage style bottles with flowers and the cake was displayed on a wooden crate. Vintage style bunting flags created the backdrop to the food table. I created a spread of afternoon tea delights, mini flower shaped sandwiches, mini triangle sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cupcakes adorned with ‘eat me’ and various candy jars filled with lollies and eat me cookies. I made a two tier topsy turvy cake that incorporated the Queen of Hearts and Alice in the color design.

The children all made a pandora style charm bracelet with bright colours that they got to take home. They also filled a personalized box with lollies from the lolly jars. And all guests came dressed as their favorite Alice in Wonderland character!

I love how fun the food looks and how it’s lopsided. I also love the various colors in the party as well.

Hello Beautiful setting. I have a quick question where did you get the pink cups. I would really appreciate it. My daughter’s birthday is in June and these would be perfect.
    Thank you,
    Jennifer

      Hi Jennifer –
It looks like the person that styled this party isn’t available anymore (her website/facebook are no longer active). So I don’t know where she got these particular cups, but still wanted to offer an alternative option of pink tea cups that I saw at Toys R Us. (These are cute and also very affordable compared to the other pink tea sets I’ve seen out there.) Good luck!
