Quick Jump To » Vendor Credits | Comments

diy corn bar

After marrying her midwest love, Aubrey of Bride Meets Wedding discovered her ‘Iowa Pride’, inspiring her to style this Rustic American Gothic Rehearsal Dinner. The rustic decor of weathered wood, dried corn husks, and denim details paired with beautiful sunflower corn centerpieces is absolutely stunning on this private countryside! (The creative DIY corn bar would be great for an adult dinner party or barnyard party!)

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • DIY ‘Corn Bar’ with labeled condiments and festive bowls
  • Pitchfork and corn husk photograph display with twine and clothespins
  • Jean pocket utensil holders, burlap table runner & ripped denim tassel garland
  • Gorgeous centerpiece full of corn kernels, sunflowers, dried corn husks and solidago

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Aubrey

When I married an Iowa boy I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I found out that whether you were born and raised here or you moved; everyone has some sort of “Iowa Pride.” When I think Iowa I think ongoing fields of corn, pork, the Iowa State Fair and American Gothic! With this stylized shoot I wanted to show off everything Iowa, including the corn, with a do-it-yourself rehearsal dinner “Corn Bar”. We incorporated corn elements as much as possible from the popcorn favors to the corn filled candles and centerpiece. We also picked field corn stalks and dried them out prior to creating a gorgeous centerpiece full of sunflowers and solidago (picked fresh from the fields). This rehearsal dinner party wouldn’t have been complete without a homemade photobooth replicating the details of the “American Gothic” painting! I’m so in love with this shoot for not only a rehearsal dinner, but a fun shower, engagement party or kids birthday! I hope you all enjoy as much as I do! :)
