PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jasmine

Having visited Paris for the first time this summer, I was delighted when my client Sendy chose “Ballerina in Paris” as the theme for her daughter Kimani’s 3rd birthday party. Even more excitement followed when we settled on pink + gold as the theme colors! Gold glitter has been one of the trends to have fun with in 2012 and this was a great party to add lots of glitter to!

Invitations

For the invites, I used a passport-style pink invitation complete with a boarding pass and ticket to Paris! These were purchased from PaperGlitter on Etsy. To dress them up, I added some glitter of course and rhinestones.

Dessert Table

For the kids’ dessert table, we had a variety of sweet stuff to pick from! There were chocolate, vanilla and red velvet cake pops covered in pink frosting and plenty of edible gold glitter of course. The 3 tier pink and gold cake was AH-mazing, my favorite detail was the quilted-effect bottom layer and the spray-painted gold Eiffel Tower candle! And what Paris-inspired dessert table would be complete without macarons? These delicate french cookies made the perfect addition in chocolate and vanilla, adorned with little glitter flags from Target. To round it off, we had white pearl gum balls and vanilla cupcakes with edible pink chocolate mini Eiffel Towers.

Kids Table

Gold doilies made for an inexpensive and pretty way to bring in some gold to the place settings, along with a place card for each child that said J’etaime and their name on it. On each place setting, we had custom cookies – ballerina dresses for the girls and Eiffel Towers for the boys!

Activities

The girls got to dress up in pretty pink tutus and boas before a mini ballet lesson with a real ballet dancer! They each had their hair and nails done before the dance lesson too. This, of course, was a big hit… the girls LOVED getting pampered by a pretty ballerina.

This is so pretty! I’d love this for my big girl party too, hahaha.

Though the whole theme was originally made for a child’s party, I think this can be a great hen party theme too. All those candies will be perfect for hens that are kids at heart. I love the whole idea!

I love all the Eiffel tower details, and the styling is really pretty.

This is a wonderful and special theme for a girls birthday party. I can see this working for any age of girl even my teenage daughter would enjoy this. Actually I must admit even I would enjoy a party as detailed as this one looks to have been. Great ideas thanks for sharing with us all.
