PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kathleen…

My two year old is in love with the bananas in pyjamas! I knew nothing would make him happier than having this theme for his 2nd birthday party! Dress code for the party was ‘pyjamarific’ and guests were asked to wear their favourite pjs to the party, it was great to see everyone get into the theme!

I created a dessert and candy buffet, beverage station and an ice-cream banana sundae bar for guests to enjoy! On the dessert buffet table there were an abundance of blue, white and yellow coloured candy to keep in line with the colour scheme of the party. The talented Amanda from Sugar & Spice Cakes created the gorgeous bananas in pyjamas themed birthday cake that my son (and everyone) adored! The flavour of the cake was banana (of course!) and Amanda organized Jack’s name to be set out on top of the cake to tie in the lovely Li-Ann from Ham&Pea design&paperie’s gorgeous backdrops, invitation, chocolate bar wrappers, place cards and thank you tags. We kept the banana in pyjamas fondant cake topper after the party, and Jack still loves to talk about them and his party every time he looks at them! Elizabeth from 4 Little Macarons impressed the guests with her delicious blue hubba bubba and yellow banana macarons, and Nicole from Sugar Pop Bakery created some yummy cake pops – a yellow pop with blue cake inside and blue pop with yellow banana cake on the inside! Absolutely delicious and looked amazing once guests bit into them! Hilda from The Delicious Biscuit made some gorgeous bananas in pyjamas biscuits to tie in with the theme and Bianca from Blush loves mint made the beautiful garland above the dessert buffet table which looked fantastic and finished off the table nicely…. I sourced a gorgeous B1 and B2 from the ABC Shop which sat on the dessert table and were a great keepsake for my son, as well as some cute B2 pj’s for him to wear on the day.

A drinks station with miniature glass bottles was set up for guests to help themselves, and an ice-cream ‘banana-tastic’ sundae bar was available for guests to enjoy making their own special ice-cream treats! The lovely Ella from Ella Gamlen : Photographer captured all the special moments on the day, the kids were spoilt by Nadia from Zig Zag Balloons who made balloon figurines for all the guests as well as table centrepieces of all the main characters, and impressed guests with her face painting skills!
