B is for Baby Shower Theme

This is “Bb is for BABY” baby shower is one of those celebrations that can make you happy just looking at it! Kelly Robson did such a fabulous job bringing this sunny party to life… One of the first elements to catch my eye in the images were the beautiful table centerpieces – which were really kicked up a notch with the simple addition of darling mini paper banners! Yet another great example of how it really is all about those little details….

More favorite details: stylish invitations tucked into envelopes lined with yellow & white stripes, adorable custom bee onesies that hung from a clothesline, sweet “We ♥ Brooke” cookie favors that sat at each place setting, “Mommy Mimosa” and Summer Sangria glasses pre-filled with colorful fruit & stripey straws, & tissue pom garlands that criss-crossed overhead!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kelly…

“This poolside Southern California baby shower was held in honor of my fabulous friend Brooke, a new mommy-to-be.  The theme was simple: “Bb is for Baby.”  The letter “B” and the literal “bumble bee” was prevalent on menus, cupcakes toppers, tiny water bottles, and a clothesline of custom made onesies. A simple color scheme of marigold yellow and white with pops of aqua blue created a festive backdrop for the already lovely poolside setting.

Food & Drinks

Held on the patio of Brooke’s gorgeous midcentury modern home, thirty guests enjoyed a menu that included “bite sized” appetizers, a trio of summer salads, and cupcakes for dessert!  Summer Sangria and “Mommy Mimosas” were served in tall glasses, garnished with frozen fresh fruit and topped with yellow & white striped straws.  The party was designed to create a sophisticated and grown up vibe.  Yet, it was still extremely playful.  With yellow pinstripes, pennant banners, and cupcakes loaded with icing… the overall feel of this party captured the personality of the guest of honor.

Party Decor

In terms of decor, nearly everything was handmade. A custom linen banner greeted guests at the front door, and invited them inside.  Colorful tissue pom pom garland was hung overhead and handmade onesies read “Bb is for Baby Boy”, “Brand New” and “Babycakes”.

As party favors, guests were given tiny cellophane bags filled with heart-shaped lemon cookies– the labels read “We (heart) Brooke”.  Large floral centerpieces with vases wrapped in yellow linen featured blossoming white hydrangeas, alstromeria, and green & purple cabbage.  Tiny messages hovered over each floral arrangement, featuring lines from the song ‘Baby Of Mine’.”
