Bikini Bottom Spongebob Squarepants Birthday Party
Are you ready kids?! Aye Aye Captain! Grab your scuba suits (or astronaut suit, if you’re Sandy) and swim on down to the happiest pineapple under the sea for this Bikini Bottom Spongebob Squarepants Birthday Party! Michelle Samardzija of Mad Momma Events & Styling added a girly flair to this Spongebob theme for her daughter’s special day. I love the focus on pineapples, which are so in right now and serve as the perfect fun & feminine touch!
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- DIY under the sea garland with honeycomb pineapples & lantern jellyfish with streamer tentacles
- Pink Patrick Star topped cupcakes, Krabby Patty macarons & pineapple lollipops
- Kelp Soda & Bikini Bottom Water + an island venue with rustic wooden ship details
- Spongebob Squarepants piñata, golf balls for mini golf & party hats + pineapple cup party favors
PARTY DETAILS as told by Michelle…
Who parties in a pineapple under the sea? We do! When the birthday girl requested a girly Spongebob Squarepants themed party, we immediately saw pineapples, glitter, and gold! We used aqua and yellow chevron, Patrick pink, and gold to keep our theme on trend and feminine for this 6th birthday.
This party was located at Zao Island in Valparaiso, Indiana, which was the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We incorporated many of Spongebob’s favorite things, but with a twist. Pink Glittery Lantern Jellyfish, Krabby Patty Macarons, and Pineapple Lollies. The lollies even tasted like pineapples! The cupcakes were gorgeous and tasty with aqua Italian buttercream and marshmallow fondant Patrick inspired starfish.
The backdrop garland was made by using several enchanting ribbons adorned with spray painted gold pineapples, crepe paper, and our custom pink jellyfish. The birthday girl’s name was displayed on a shimmery paper banner by using gold glitter sticker decals. She matched the theme by wearing a sophisticated Lilly Pulitzer jellyfish shift dress. The linens were custom made using store bought chiffon skirting and chevron fabric.
The children sipped on Kelp Soda and Bikini Bottom Water inside a Spongebob cup with a pink chevron paper straw. We played arcade games and were set to play mini-golf with our perfectly yellow Spongebob golf balls. Each guest took home their own Spongebob home (plastic pineapple cup), which housed Spongebob bubbles and all their prizes from the day. Even Spongebob would agree that it was the “Best Day Ever!”
