Bird-Inspired Baby Shower {Yellow & Gray}
Baby on the brain? GOOD… because Julianne of A Modern Proposal Event Planning knows just how to throw an amazing baby shower! Even if you’re nowhere near “nesting” mode right now though, you can still enjoy this wonderfully modern & fresh Bird-Inspired Baby Shower, complete with a fabulous (and gender-neutral!) yellow & gray color palette.
Julianne did an amazing job creating an oh-so chic shower by incorporating one of the mom-to-be’s loves: birds. I’m definitely a passenger on the bird theme bandwagon. From owls to robins, you can’t go wrong with a bird themed party. The use of designer fabric throughout the party does a nice job tying everything together. Say bye-bye to streamers and hello to felt flowers and tissue paper pom-poms! The modern baby shower is here to stay…

PARTY DETAILS from Julianne…
This was a gender-neutral baby shower (Yellow and Grey) with a bird theme. The bird theme was chosen because the mom to be loves birds, and actually has a yellow parrot of her own. Most of the décor also had an underlying polka dot theme to match the baby’s nursery.
DIY Projects included:
the two bird trees on either side of the sweets table; the picture frames & cross stitch frames; the wreath hanging on the front of the ‘guest book’ table; the candy favors; the sweet little birds in the floral arrangements; the table runners; the baby book; and the felt flowers.
Activities included:
“guess the number of q-tips in the jar”; advice for the mom to be (on super-cute note cards for the mom-to-be’s scrapbook!); and “finish the nursery rhymes”.

Every detail of this shower is just so lovely! I’m a big sucker for all gray + yellow palettes, too!
LOVE the fabric elements like the flowers at the corners of the cupcake table, the wreath, the embroidery hoops! Ah! Love!
Great ideas!!! Love your ideas and themes!!!
Just a gorgeous shower! I love the color palette and the textural details–great use of the felt flowers!
Is this a good reason to have another one? haha j/k :)

The idea of color as a theme in a party is superb. The green gives such a nice relief with the yellow and gray! The art on the cards are so nice, and love seeing birds as they are very uplifting.
I absolutely love this theme, the little birdies are too adorable. The fabric stuffed birds could be used in the baby’s nursery once he or she is born :)
Wow….makes a lovely Grown Up feel shower theme. Very nice!
I love the phrase, “I’m definitely a passenger on the bird themed bandwagon”. I totally am too! I had to have just the right swallows for my wedding invites, and I still love them. This is so cute!
love this theme! sophisticated!
I used this theme, but using green instead of yellow, for a baby shower yesterday. The guests had all met the new mom via Twitter, so the bird theme was particularly fitting.
The shower was beautiful and the guests had a great time! I received many compliments. Thanks!
What did you use for the bird beaks?
Thanks!
I love all the signs and cards with the little yellow bird. I’m looking for something like that for my daughter’s shower. Is there a downloadable file or where did you purchase the stationary? I’ve already done invitations.

Where did you get the candy jars used for the thank you gifts?
