Under the sea parties aren’t just for little mermaids! Danielle Dalledone of Emotion – Projeto Gráfico Para Eventos styled this Boy’s Under the Sea First Birthday Party full of sea life & nautical details. Danielle fit in lots of DIY, like that stunning paper mosaic backdrop flanked by clear ‘bubble’ balloons, as well as some authentically beachy details, like the sand filled floral vases & scuba gear. I’m ready to dive on in! ;)

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Blue ombre waves birthday cake + crab cookie pops, oyster pearl macarons & starfish cookies
  • ‘Seaweed’ studded with stuffed felt fish + a tablescape with sea glass vases filled with Baby’s Breath

PARTY DETAILS as told by Danielle

Leo’s mother knew she wanted an Under the Sea theme for his first birthday from the day he was born. She told us she wanted a lot of sea animals on clean decorations, so that’s what we did!

Most of the animals were made with food, like the octopus cupcakes, crab cookies, starfish cookies, oyster macarons and fish candies. We also made animal shaped toppers for the more plain sweets. As it was a boy party, we didn’t want to use a lot of flowers, so we made arrangements using just leaves, like seaweed, and some felt animals swimming around in the seaweed.

The backdrop was made with blue tons of paper. We loved the result! The centerpieces were made with real beach sand and shelves.

At the entry of the party, we placed some scuba diving equipment (that belongs to the Leo’s grandpa) so that all of the human guests could breathe under the sea! ;)

Aww, such a cute birthday party. The picture of you two throwing him is so precious. You can just see the excitement in his face.

    What a beautiful celebration!

Where can I find this little shark embroidered birthday shirt for my own little sweetie turning one next month?

If anyone could help us track it down we would be so grateful!
