Modern Batman Birthday Party {with DIY Gotham City!}
Holy birthday cake, Batman! Elizabeth & Karrie of Posh Paperie saved the day with this insanely AWESOME Batman Birthday Party for Karrie’s own little Super Hero, Frankie. What a fun way to make a little guy’s crime fighting dreams come true! I love the modern twist that they put on the decor and stationery details, which highlighted those iconic beams of light and a cool custom Batman graphic that looks like he means business. ;) So hop into your Batmobile and cruise on down to see all the SUPER creative party details…
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Amazing DIY Batman piñata & Gotham City skyline buildings
- Batman capes (hand-sewn by Karrie) for each little Super Hero… even the very littlest one!
- “Batman is Brave” sign, Batman logo cookies, & lots of other black & yellow treats
- Custom Batman (or “Frankman”) invitations with super cool envelope liners
- Black & Yellow honeycomb pom garland + tissue paper Bat logo with ‘Frankie’ banner
- Batman bubbles, masks, Bat Signal flashlights & other crime-fighting necessities for the guests
PARTY DETAILS as told by Elizabeth…
Frankie, being a sweet 3 year old boy, is obsessed with all things superhero! He specifically loves Batman, so Karrie wanted to create a fun party for him with Batman as the focal point! The color palette was pretty typical for Batman — black, white, grey and yellow.
Paper
We created a really fun invitation — 2 layers of print (back was a pattern of repeating “Batman” heads), invitation on front with layer of black in between. The “Batman” that Karrie created for the invitations was the focal point for everything we designed regarding party paperie.
Activities
Karrie made the piñata, and she also designed the adorable “Build Gotham City” — wrapped boxes that looked like buildings to create a city in the backyard! This was a huge hit with the kids, along with the piñata. We also had a “Batman Bubble” station. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for all the outdoor activities we had planned for the kids!
Food
Party food was all snacks + finger foods, with an incredible array of desserts and cake by Sweet and Saucy Shop. Nothing was left when the party was over!
Decor
We set two long tables for the kiddos — each place had a Batman favor toy and a cape (hand sewn by Karrie). She even sewed 2 tiny capes for the smallest party guests (her newborn son, Harrison, being one of them!). We used darling grey polka dot bags to house the lunches for the kids and had cups custom printed with our batman logo & font.
We created honeycomb “banners” in the party color palette and used huge oversized balloons attached to the tables to give some interest above. We also designed a ton of custom signage and had two of the signs printed and mounted to foam core to really make them durable and sturdy. One of them said, “Always be yourself… unless you can be batman…”
Several photo banners were created to use as decor. Karrie found most of the other items randomly along shopping trips to Target, the Dollar Store & Walmart…and picked them up as she would go!
This was such a fun party to create for our little “Frankman,” and he loved every minute of it! Happy 3rd birthday, sweet boy!
