Celebrating One is Fun with Thing 2 & Thing 1 {Cat in the Hat}
“Those Things ran about with big bumps, jumps and kicks and with hops and big thumps and all kinds of bad tricks!” It’s no secret that baby twins can cause all kinds of mischief, so for this baby boy and girl, a Celebrating One is Fun with Thing 2 & Thing 1 {Cat in the Hat} first birthday party was the perfect way to play! Anne-Marie Johnson of Elianna Noelle Events did an amazing job tying together details from all different Dr. Seuss books while including some of the twins’ personalities. I just love that Thing 1 has a hair bow & Thing 2 has a bow tie — too cute! :)

PARTY DETAILS as told by Anne-Marie…
This is my first twin themed birthday and was so excited to hear that my client wanted elements from many of the Dr Seuss books highlighting Thing 1 and Thing 2 for her precious girl and boy. “Oh the places you can go” with this theme! Lol that’s exactly what I tried to do. I created the left side for her daughter, who was born first, and accentuated Thing 1 with a red hair bow. Thing two was identified by a turquoise bow tie with all things turquoise on the right side. I was inspired by the various characters and objects from many of the books.
The centerpieces were inspired from “Up Up and Away!” To incorporate the book “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish,” I did exactly that on 4 hightop tables. One fish in one bowl with some decorative water beads. Two fish in another bowl, a red fish in a third bowl, and lastly, a blue fish. I added some Dr Seuss books to those tables as well to coordinate with the edible book cupcake toppers at the dessert station.
My DIY crafts were the red frames and the candy and gourmet popcorn jars. I bought the jars and candlesticks from Home Depot and the finials and spray paint from Michaels. I used a heavy duty glue for the adhesive and voila! I bought wooden frames and spray painted them red to frame the custom letters. My handyman made the shelves for me and I spray painted these as well.
The shelves were made to showcase the incredible Dr Seuss themed marshmallows, the 3-D font and toppers on cupcakes, and personalized wooden blocks.
