Theme:
My daughter has always LOVED arts and crafts! I guess you can say she takes after her momma! She has always loved doing unique party themes for her birthday, and this year she wanted to do a Tie Dye party!! I was incredibly excited and we started prepping….Then I was given an amazing opportunity to create a partnership with a company and had to change the theme last minute! So we decided a Rainbow Art Party was close! I am thankful for amazing vendors who also changed their plans last minute! I am super grateful for my awesome photographer, Heather Carpenter Photography!
Backdrop:
I knew I wanted to do something fun, bright and different for the backdrop! I wanted it to be colorful but not too busy! I found these awesome chipboard punch out frames at Michaels and new immediately they would be perfect! My mom and I spent hours painting the frames. I then hot glued them to two large foam boards from Hobby Lobby. It was like putting a puzzle together. So fun!
Dessert Table:
I wanted a white tablecloth and since I have the most amazing linen vendor, Candy Crush Events, I knew she would have something perfect! She of course had this adorable ruffle table cloth. It was girly and added some charm while keeping it clean and simple! I used white milk glass cake stands that I ordered on Amazon at a very reasonable price! I wanted to keep all of the dishes white so the sweets would pop! The ART letter candy dishes were purchased form Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon! I filled them with rainbow gumballs. The simply adorable mini cupcake stands were made by using a fabulous wooden Art Pallet create by the amazing Ten 23 Designs. I then pained unfinished wood candlestick holders from Hobby Lobby and hot glued them together! The tulle pom pom cupcake toppers and cake topper are from the amazing, Debra Walters, and really made the cupcakes and the cake pop!! The adorable fabric garland on the front of the table really made a statement. That garland and the circle paper garlands throughout were created by my friend from Tutu’s and Bowties Events. I love love the 36 inch balloons and decided to use a clear one and fill it with tissue paper confetti. TIP – fill the un-inflated balloon as full as you can get it with confetti to achieve this look. I used a large Art Easel to house the Welcome Sign. The paint brush garland is my favorite and so easy to make! I used tons of the printables available in the shop as an – Instant Download Editable Text Art Party Package.
Sweets:
I have the best sweets vendors! My daughter wanted rice krispies and extreme straws! She is not a big sweets girl but loves those two items. Sweet U Off Your Feet created these adorable Rice Krispy Paint Brushes. Sweets From Heaven created the adorable and delicious Kandy Kabobs. The incredibly yummy and fun splatter paint cake pops were create by The New York Cakepoppery. The fabulous canvas cookies were cute and served as an activity (see below), created by one of the best cookie girls around, Sweet Baketique. I loved these mini food safe paint cans form Michaels and knew I had to use them for something. So I came up with the gumballs being Paint Drop favors to fill the mini cans.
Seating Chart:
I wanted the seating table to be functional and look great at the same time! So I created easy DIY centerpieces in paint cans! I used the amazing artist aprons made by Great Stitch to adorn the girls seats! Great Stitch also created my daughter’s cute birthday girl shirt! Each place setting had one of the printable placemats to start with. They were then topped with blank canvas’, a DIY sketchbook, paintbrushes, paint and a water cup provided by Celebration Lane. The place cards were adorable mini easels from Hobby Lobby and the canvas cookies from Sweet Baketique I provided food color markers and the kids were able to decorate their own place card and take it home to eat later! The drinks were served in these clear milk bottles from Hoopla Events and had colored ice cubes added to sprite!
Activities:
When the party started I had the kids first paint their canvas so they would have time to dry! Next they were given colored pencils and asked to sketch their friend in front of them on the first page of the book. After that they got to decorate their canvas cookies! Then they Tie Dyed some socks with awesome Tie Dye kits provided by Tulip Tie Dye!
What a creative day it was!!
