Colorful “First Fiesta” Celebration
¡Bienvenidos! With bold, bright colors and some latin flair, Kelin spiced up her daughter Sutton’s First Birthday with a Colorful “First Fiesta” Celebration. This charming little fiesta has gorgeous Mexican Folk Art inspired decor – I just love the tiny crocheted embellishments on the photo banner, the sweet dolls and hand painted maracas! And Topped off with an amazing “1” piñata and some delicioso mexican food {my favorite!} this is definitely my kind of party!
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Yarn Wrapped “UNO” Birthday Sign + “1” Pinata
- Birthday Photo Banner with Colorful Crocheted Embellishments
- Hand-painted Maracas + Luchador Action Figure Party Favors
- Pretty Mexican Folk Art Inspired Dresses and Sombreros + Mustache Photo Props
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kelin…
We celebrated Sutton’s first fiesta on Cinco de Mayo 2013. Baby #4 and the last first birthday party I will ever throw! We wanted to make it very casual with our closet friends and family. This party truly was a labor of love…everyone helped out with all of the handcrafted details.
My husband built a custom photo booth from scratch, a family friend who’s hobby is woodworking made the beautiful dessert stands. My girlfriends helped out hand painting maracas as party favors, creating a custom UNO sign wrapped in yarn, and mommy had help from big sister, harper, making the first year banner and all of the other banners and signs.
Guests sipped on homemade agua frescas, homemade horchata, homemade “DOTTS MARGARITAS,” Jarritos & cervezas. Wilo the caterer prepared ‘made to order’ food for each guest including authentic carnitas, carne asada, pollo, tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, etc. The postres table was complete with fresh fruit, churros with an authentic dulce de leche dipping sauce, galletas (sprinkled cookies), chocoflan & of course a smash cake for Sutton!
