Purple Orange Black Halloween Party

We have more fun HALLOWEEN INSPIRATION today from Michelle at I Do Invitations by Michelle! She created a wonderful hay bale background for this colorful kids Halloween shoot, complete with festive embellishments like paper daisies, tinted cheesecloth, and sparkly spiders. (This backdrop is actually great inspiration for adult Fall or Halloween parties too!)

This party theme utilizes the traditional Halloween colors of black, orange, purple, & green but mixes things up a little with fun patterns like polka dots and damask.

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Michelle

“I wanted to style a modern Halloween party that is geared towards kids but could also be used for an adult party or Fall birthday party. Polka dot and damask patterns were the main design element I used with the ever-so-popular orange/black/lime and purple color scheme. (It’s my fav – I couldn’t resist!)

I created the invite, water bottle labels, food labels, and cupcake toppers. (Thanks to Jenn for inspiring me to hand-cut the cupcake toppers since I always see that detail element in her parties – LOVE it). I added a thin piece of polka dot ribbon around the invite that I purchased at Michael’s that I thought was the perfect match. I added glitter paper, found at Hobby Lobby, behind my custom food labels for an added sparkle and touch. I added a custom ‘Trick or Treat’ sign I hand-cut and adhered to the cute black and white favor boxes.

My husband had the fab idea to use straw bails as the backdrop, and since my Spooks, Spiders + Spells Collection is primarily geared around spiders we used fake cotton webs to sprawl across the straw and add some fun creepy spiders, crows and paper tissue fans! I added the custom cake pops in a polka planter I’ve had with some purple cob-webs.

My favorite element from this shoot is $1 trays I bought from Michaels to display the adorable custom sugar cookies and cupcakes. I used small orange vases I already owned to prop them up and add some height to the table.

My daughter was included in the shoot and wore the adorable custom tee from *golden* and headband and pettiskirt from AMK’S Boutique.”
