PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jessica…
I’m beyond excited to share with you my Pottery Barn Inspired Witches Brew Halloween Party. This was a styled shoot I did with several super spooky and equally beautiful items that Pottery Barn was kind enough to send me. This party was super simple and would be easy for anyone to recreate. I will include some helpful tips along the way.
Pottery Barn’s style is very classic and timeless and I absolutely fell in love with their Witches Brew Table Runner. This is an item that can be used year after year. I also selected several other pieces that coordinated with the Witches Brew Table Runner, including the Cauldron Condiment Set, Witches Brew Napkins, Spell Salad Plates, and Cauldron Punch Bowl with Ladle. All of these items together make the perfect Witches Brew Collection.
Using these items as inspiration, I decided it would be fun to create a Caramel Apple Bar. You can do this too! Simply make a batch of caramel (or use store bought) for dipping. Select your topping and prepare your apples. Also include dipping chocolate which can be kept warm in a crock pot. Allow your guests to make their own gourmet caramel apples.
I also purchased some clear cello bags at my local craft store so that the apples can be easily bagged and taken to-go. Interactive parties like this keep your guests entertained and are fun for everyone. Decorative tags and menus create a cohesive feel and are the perfect added touch to “Wow” your guests.
The Cauldron Condiment Set perfectly held all of my wickedly yummy caramel apple toppings. This piece is so versatile and I can’t wait to come up with more unique uses for it in the future. How would you use this piece at your party?
To get your guest excited about the party, send out coordinating invitations. Remember that the invitation is the first item your guests will see and it sets the tone for the party! Pottery Barn’s Witches Brew Table Runner inspired these frightfully fun invitations. Which are also available for purchase in my shop along with all of the other printables you see here! See. . .it doesn’t have to be hard. I’ve done all the hard work for you!
Don’t have time to make everything for your party? Not to worry, pick up a store bought cake like this Spider Web masterpiece at your local grocery store. I contacted Natasha at Lamb’s Thriftway in Garden Home and described what I was looking for. She created this gorgeous cake that was almost too pretty to eat! Don’t worry, after all it is cake, so we did eat it happily!
I quickly embellished the cake by using black floral wire and plastic spiders. Take your trusty glue gun, cut a piece of black floral wire, twist the wire around a pen, and glue the spider to the top. It’s a quick and easy addition that will add more character to your already spooky cake.
You can serve cocktails or mocktails at your party! Heck, why not serve both?! I made a mocktail for this party that was appropriately called Brew-Ha-Ha Punch. Which could be easily transformed into a cocktail by adding your favorite alcohol. I also purchased dry ice at my local grocery store. Dry ice is an inexpensive way to create an eerie drink that your guests will love.
Adding beautifully decorated sugar cookies to your dessert table is another way to excite or frighten your guests. Don’t worry, these cookies won’t bite! Thankfully, I have some amazing culinary geniuses in my corner and I contacted Angela, of Oh, Sugar! Events who whipped up these super creepy sugar cookies. She gave me a fabulous idea to make an edible “Beetle Specimen Collection” with her creations. It was just another fun way to display these creepy little cookies!
Using my Silhouette machine, I created these straw labels. They are just a different take on the classic straw flag. I’m loving their fun shape and the ability to add more detail since they are larger and much easier to attach. Simply cut them out and slide them on! That’s my kind of party prep, quick and easy with a decorative touch.
I hope this inspires you to throw a Halloween Party of your own! It doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. Remember, you don’t have to slave away for hours in the kitchen either. Your guests will be just as happy if you buy your items as they would if you make them from scratch! Don’t forget to include some timeless Pottery Barn Halloween products that you’ll be able to use for years to come.
