PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jenny…
This Daisies and Donuts party was created for my “client,” Monica who was turning three. She wanted her party to be white, her favorite color, but her mom wanted it to also be girlie, pretty and feminine. Daisies were the perfect solution.
I found die cut daisies at Paper Source but decided to change the prepackaged yellow center circle to blue violet polka dot circles and gingham circles which matched the printables and invites (Monica also likes purple). Inspiration for the addition of donuts came from a party by Lil Luna. For the printables, I used blue violet polka dots and gingham & white with pops of pink. The daisies and donuts collection available here includes everything from invitations to banners, food labels, straw flags, juice box wrappers, thank you tags and more.
Dessert Table
- For the backdrop of the dessert table, I made a giant “M” out of wire and attached the daisies.
- Treats included a two tiered cake, daisy cake in mason jars, daisy potsicles made with frozen yogurt, cake pops, blackberry cupcakes, petal parfaits, daisy cookies on sticks and of course lots of donuts.
- Inspiration for the gumball tubes with a daisy on top came from Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Living.
- I also filled a big cylinder jar with the gumballs in a daisy shapes (It actually takes much less time than you think but well worth the effort).
Drink Table
- We also had a drink table with sweet sips, petal punch and donut seeds.
- For the tables I made centerpieces out of donut holes, the die cut flowers and paper straws.
Activities & Favors
- The kids did some dancing with a local singing teacher, went “dough”nuts at the play dough table and made daisy chains.
- Guest took home a daisy craft with a tag that thanked them for watching Monica grow. (One party styling tip I wish I knew prior to the party– purple food dye does not hold its color. It slowly changes to blue when it warms up.)
