DIY Baseball Balloons Tutorial + Free Baseball Printables

If you have a loved one that’s also a baseball fan, today’s post is for YOU! These DIY Baseball Balloons are super easy to create – thanks to a simple pack of office supply sticky notes. 🙌

They also make great crafty decorations for a baseball party – OR a fun addition to a gift of game day tickets. SO… if you’re planning to take someone out to the ball game soon, consider hitting a *home run* in the creativity department by pairing the tickets up with this surprise baseball-balloon-in-a-box idea! 😍

Here’s how you make them:

DIY BASEBALL BALLOONS

***

Materials:

  • White Mylar Balloon
  • Balloon Time Helium Tank
  • 14” Cake Circle* (or similar)
  • Broad-tip Red Marker
  • Red Sticky Notes
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • String

*You can also use a large round platter or another object of similar size as your tracing guide.

Instructions:

1. Set the cake circle on top of one side of a (non-inflated) mylar balloon. Use the red marker to trace along the edge of the circle to create a baseball “seam”. Draw the 2nd seam on the other side of the balloon. (To create a double-sided baseball, flip the balloon over and repeat the lines on the back.)

2. Fill the balloon with helium. Note: most mylar balloons are self-sealing.

3. Time to add the baseball stitches! First, stick a couple of pieces of rolled tape to the back of the helium-filled balloon, and use them to stick the balloon to your work surface.

4. Peel a sticky note from the stack and cut off the top portion that has the adhesive on the back. Cut this strip in half to create the first two “stitches”. Repeat this process until both baseball seams are covered with stitches. (Repeat process on the back for a double-sided balloon.)

5. Tie on the string and enjoy! Use these balloons as party decorations, or attach one balloon to baseball tickets and hide it inside of a gift box so that the balloon floats out when opened! (Use these baseball printables to help deck out your gift!)

P.S. Love the gift idea but don’t have enough time to DIY? You can also order pre-printed Mylar Baseball Balloons to use instead. :)

This is great – what an excellent idea as a gift or for a party decoration. I could definitely imagine the baseball theme as an effective party style for a kid’s party. You could even carry this theme through with the cake, and a photo booth.
