PARTY DETAILS, as told by Tami…

This party was such a delight for me to plan!  I am a photographer and a mother of 3 darling little girls.  I did a party about a year ago for my oldest daughter and decided this time I would do an equally big party for the other 2 since their birthday’s are so close.  My 5 year old Nikell, decided she wanted a ballet themed party where all her girls friends could come learn from a real ballerina and dance the day away.

We turned our backyard into a dance studio.  As the girls arrived they were led to our backyard by a sign that read “recital this way”  then they followed the path of ribbons and lanters to the backyard in which we had turned our trampoline upside down, covered it in tulle and ribbon’s and turned it into a dance stage.  if the they followed the path farther they would see the ballet bar full of tutu’s with each girls name on it.  And to the dessert table which we named “the ballet bar”  and the tables decorated with modern elegance where they found their own beautiful wands.  I also made a place for the gift opening to take place with big pink blankets where the girls could sit and a big vintage, pink chair for my girls to sit and open their presents.  We also had little goody bags for each girl to take home right there as well.

The girls were so excited to have a real ballerina coming to teach them all about ballet and even teach the a beautiful ballet dance.  The birthday invitations invited the rest of each girls families to come back near the end of the party to watch the ballet recital and have treats with the girls.  Amy, our real ballerina had the girls in a trance.  They were in awe of her beauty and elegance.  She led them in ballet games, ballet basics and then lastly their own little dance that they were so excited to show their parents.  Near the end of the party all the parents showed up and sat in chairs right in front of the trampoline stage and watched these cute little ballerina’s put on a show.  It was so exciting for them and they all had such a fun time!

Side note…  Some of the families had little boys so I set up an area with a slide a tunnel and some hula hoops for them to have fun as well.  Also as the party wound down we watched as the girls used the legs of the trampoline as a gymnastics bar and started jumping up on them, doing twirls and going upside down.  I didn’t realized a trampoline would have so many functions ;).  I am so glad I didn’t waste tons of money on a stage because the trampoline turned out to be such a hit.

I love all the little details of this party, some of my favorites are the napkin holders that we tied with beautiful ribbon and shimmery tulle, the ribbon table runners designed by Michelle Tucker from the little design company, the beautiful ballerina skirt table cloth and the ribbons and tulle everywhere.  It was a ballerinas dream.:)
