Theme & Printables

Recently, a good friend and baker Andrea from Cake-a-lishious employed my services to design and style her daughter, Amelia’s 5th Birthday Party. Given the event was to take place at the local aquatic centre, an ice cream social was the perfect theme. Working with stunning pastel ice cream social printables from Sarah of Style Me Gorgeous in Australia I created an Ice Cream Parlour for Amelia’s birthday in shades of pink, lemon, mint, lavender and a touch of baby blue.

Ice Cream Sundae Dessert Bar

Both Andrea (Cake-a-lishious) and her husband created two table canopies for both the ice cream soda station and the Ice Cream Parlour dessert buffet.  At the Ice Cream Parlour dessert table; tin pails housed the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream and guests were able to choose from an assortment of toppings and also their choice of cone or tub for their sundaes. This was such a hit with all the guests even the adults making some real eye opener ice cream sundaes.

Also on offer was a stunning mix of pastel macarons and sundae inspired vanilla mud cupcakes with the sweetest fondant cherries on top! Noo from Dessert Menu, Please made the perfectly detailed ice cream sundae and ice cream cone cookies which were another fun element on the table.

The highlight of the table was the white chocolate mud and raspberry ice cream cone with a cherry on top cake made by Andrea of Cake-a-lishious.

Each dessert and topping was labelled with buffet labels from Sarah of Style Me Gorgeous’s Ice cream social printable collection. Sarah also custom designed the front of the table signage to symbolise Amelia’s Ice Cream Parlour shop frontage.

Ice Cream Float Station

Guests at the party were also able to make ice cream soda’s in old fashioned soda glasses over at the soda station and a particular highlight for the children was drinking chocolate milk from the mini milk bottles. Guests were handed out personalised chocolate bars and mini apothecary jars filled with ice cream candies on their way home.

In between lunching and dessert the children were able to access the pool through gorgeous adjoining bifold windows to a private pool area.

Thanks for the the valuable suggestions…keep writing on this topic. Two things I like about the post, one it is straight forward and two it does not attempt to promote anyone’s position particularly. Very valuable information jenn.
