PARTY DETAILS, as told by Marabous…

This event was a very opulent Christening celebration for the son of a prominent Brisbane family. Inspired by the family’s love of yachting, Marabous created a luxurious nautical theme as the perfect style for their party.

The 130 VIP guests arrived at the luxurious Sofitel Thyme Restaurant and were treated to a nautical feast of the senses from the moment they walked into the private dining room. They felt as though they entered onto the deck of a luxurious cruise liner. They could also look forward to a delicious seafood feast for lunch including freshly shucked oysters and smoked salmon accompanied by a delectable selection of fine wines.
The beautiful cityscape of Brisbane provided a stunning backdrop for the entire event with full length glass windows stretching across the entire private dining room. The nautical themed dessert buffet was complete with an adorable 3 tier cake by Cake Star and show-stopping cookies made to perfection by Coby of The Lemony Cupcake which were inspired by our favourite designs from Sam of Scrumptious Buns in the UK! These cookies were almost too good to eat…many guests desiring them as a souvenir.

Mini treats such as creamy Belgian chocolates were wrapped in personalised, custom designed wrappers by Jordan of Polka Dot Prints with designs inspired by the anchor emblem designed by Cara Marie of Invitation Station. An array of candy in the shades of blue, white and red were used to follow through with the colour scheme. The nautical themed props completed the look and added a nice touch to the expansive 4.5 metre long, lavish dessert table.

Crisp, white linen was the perfect base for the unique, custom designed centrepieces for the tables, which were definitely a talking point for the guests on the day. Stylish white glass vases were lavishly decorated with custom-made, blueberry flavoured Lollipop bouquets in navy & white by Lollipop Brides. The vases were also co-ordinated with matching satin ribbon, embellished with a golden anchor button. What a magnificent event overlooking Brisbane city. A beautiful luncheon to celebrate a very special Christening Day!
