Deep in the heart of the woods lies an Enchanted FOURest Twin Birthday Party with glittering fairies, soft patches of moss and a certain large woodland friend… filled with candy! ;)

Danielle Ellis of Gemini Celebrations cleverly found some common ground between her daughter’s love of fairies and her son’s love of squirrels to forge this delightful woodland celebration, which also happens to be perfectly gender neutral. Starting from the most captivating, 3-dimensional forest party invitation and ending with butterfly kisses & birthday wishes, this party definitely feels like a fairytale!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Danielle…

As my girl/boy twins get older, it gets harder to come up with themes to suit both of their personalities. They are certainly opinionated when it comes to their birthday, and this year, their “likes” played right into the perfect theme. My daughter is obsessed with fairies & my son loves being outside watching the squirrels in our yard. I pitched an Enchanted FOURest theme and they loved the idea. My daughter dressed as a fairy & my son had a squirrel mask & tail (made by Opposite of Far).

When guests arrived they were greeted with homemade animal masks & fairy crowns. Kids were entertained with a scavenger hunt, piñata & birdhouse decorating station (complete with homemade toadstool seats). The squirrel piñata was definitely the most time consuming project. He is 100% handmade and for me it was a sad moment when he was knocked to the ground!

One of my favorite details from the party is the moss topper on the dessert table. To make it we simply glued real moss to a cardboard base. It worked out perfectly so we decided to also make moss runners for the guest tables. This was an easy project that made such a huge impact.

Desserts:

The dessert table consisted of French macarons, fresh fruit tarts, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered Oreos & sugar cookies. I’ve worked with Sweeties by Kim several times and she never disappoints — her faux bois, ladybug & strawberry fields patterned Oreos fit right in with the theme.

When it came to the sugar cookies, I wanted a “wow” factor and I was thrilled when Lacey from Flourish Cookies was available. Her cookies are truly pieces of art (not to mention they are REALLY tasty too). I sent her a photo of the invitation and she went to work designing these beautiful cookies.

Everyone had a great time and this is definitely one of my favorite themes…there are just so many directions you can go in and most importantly, it works well for girls and boys!
