PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kristen

I am an event planner in Mississippi and I had so much fun planning “Witt’s Campground” for him :). As you know, being a party planner myself… planning my own child’s party adds extra pressure to make my own child’s party special. Plus being a working mom, it is tough to devote the time, but it all came together in the end. I hope you enjoy it.

Decor

  • We used children’s tables, brown linens, and toppers (flannel and burlap) to give the outdoor look.
  • We used rustic woodsy decor and antlers as table decor.
  • Above, we hung rope and camping backpacks and camping gear…which the boys loved.
  • My favorite part were the stumps for seats.
  • I just called tree cutting places and told them the measurements.
  • Some places were willing to give them to me for free, but they did charge to deliver them to my house.

Food

I am all about naming items for fun. So we had s’mores sticks (marshmallows dipped in chocolate in graham crackers), campfire flames (pretzel sticks for the logs and puffy cheetos for the flames), and teddy grahams with a sign saying “Don’t feed the Bears”. We also had Mud Pies (pudding, oreos, and gummi worms), a hot dog roast, and acorns (mini nilla wafers, chocolate kisses and chocolate held it all together).

Favors

We had bags with water bottles, flashlights, carabiners, and glow in the dark bracelets. The tag was tied with rope saying “You made my party s’more fun since you were here”

Activities

We painted birdhouses at the wood shop, did an obstacle course, a scavenger hunt, and made s’mores. The only thing we missed out on was a late night game of flashlight tag because it started to rain, but I think it was fun anyways :).
